How many of you would have settled for

Can always count on VolNation to be insufferable, regardless of the outcome of the game the night before. A lot of you folks love to wallow in misery. You're expectations were set too high after a magic year last year. 4 - 1, with plenty of football left to go, and a possibility to win the SEC, or more. Still plenty left to play for! Hyp has the boys winning games we would have lost under the old regime, where we would already be talking about tracking John Grudens PJ number. The future is even more bright. Go Vols!
You misspelled realistic.

This team CAN win every remaining game. Alabama and Georgia are not the juggernauts this year they have been in the past. I think we go 10-2 or 9-3 and win one of the big ones against either Bama or Georgia but have a clunker or two like Florida. If this team plays lights out they have the talent to win out and go to Atlanta.
Nope NIL and transfer portal has semi leveled the playing field. Doesn't effect first string talent as much, but no longer are the days of Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Ohio State stacking 5 stars 3 deep on the bench.

Despite early season woes, we still control our own destiny. Starts at home against A&M. If we run the table which I’m not predicting, but hoping, we are in the CFP
iMO A&M is as talented a team left on the schedule. It will not be an easy task in getting the win.
I hope the team and fans and ready

a 4-1 record going into an open week ?
I was hoping for undefeated, but I seriously didn’t expect it.
Going in I felt our toughest games were gonna be: 1) at Bama 2) Georgia at Home 3) Texas A&M at Home with Kentucky on the road a distant 4th about even with Florida on the road. So I really wanted to close out September 5-0. I was hoping for a 9-3 or even 10-2 season and right now I think 8-4 is more likely. Heck, even Missouri at their place will be a contest.

Neyland will need to be as electric as the Bama game last year against A/M. I live about two hours from College Station now, all my friends are Aggies. They have as much talent as any team in the country, and looks like they finally have some coaching on offense as well.

Mizzou has played no one. MTSU almost beat them.

With what we have, if we lose to Alabama then Georgia and go to a good bowl, I can deal with that. I just hate that we didn’t get to take advantage of Florida and Alabama with them not being that strong as normal with us having a 7th year quarterback.

Yep all of that 20 mil $ class might not be there still but nobody else’s is either.
They have players and Jimbo finally woke up and realized he was the problem on offense and hired petrino

We are having to kid glove a 6th year qb who hasn’t exactly looked promising in 5 games.
It’s not all on the QB. No part of the offense, except RB, looks equal to last yr. Including the OC. After losing Bru, we’re considerably weaker at WR. This is going to make running more difficult going forward. I do think Heupel can figure things out if anyone can.

I always feel like we can win no matter what team we play. We'll need someone to step into Bru's position and rock out. It feels like it all depends on how to O-line performs. If we have Mays and everyone is clicking we can probably take any team. Georgia always worries me due to how they shift their defensive line before the snap. Seems like we're never prepared for that.

I was figuring 8-4, 9-3, hoping for better. I’d take 8-4 right now I figure 6 wins are in but hope to win at least 2 of the Big 5 left (A&M, Bama, Ky, Mizzou & Ga).

We’re overdue on some officiating calls. All we’ve had thus far is complete BS.

With Coop back now, if the offensive line can continue to gel, if Joe and the receivers can build a bit more chemistry, if our young linebackers (Herring, Carter, Telander, and Perry) can grow up over the next few games, we may be able to go the distance with just about anybody down the stretch.

The A&M game sets up perfectly: they’ll be coming off an emotional game against Alabama, while we’ll be coming off a bye. It’s in Neyland. They will be a tough out, but I think there’s too much in UT’s favor for A&M to overcome. Get some breaks against Bama, establish the ground game and keep the crowd from becoming too much of a factor, and that game is winnable.

Beat ‘Bama and who knows what could happen.

My preseason prediction was 8-4 with losses to the usual 3 plus A&M. Now that I’ve seen us play along with others, I’m still leaning towards 8-4 but feel like 9-3 could very well be our reality. I’m happy with both.

We do not control anything. We still need UF to get beat again
Did you watch even 5 minutes of that Kentucky game? UF may lose every game, even Vandy, moving forward. I’m not dwelling on the past, but I very well believe that game will be the stain of what could be a great season for us.

Honestly I didn’t think Florida would be as bad as they are at the first of the year. Carolina I figured the guys would be full of piss and vinegar for. Still pissed about the Florida game but it’s time to focus on the rest of the season.

Unless we just drastically improve, I find it hard to see Tennessee beat Georgia or Alabama.

That is 9-3 at best after those two. I am also not confident they can win both of the road games against Kentucky and Missouri.

Man, we need to get one of aTm or UGA at home. KY, Bama and Mizzou all on the road will be tough games. Would kill to get Bama and one of the other two. 9-3 might be a big ask, but it would be a nice season overall. 8-4 wouldn’t be a disaster either considering our lost talent from last year and having some key players injured during this season.

This won't be a problem......UF has several top 25 SEC teams left to play....including UGA. Florida is not good, we absolutely killed ourselves against them. Horrendous loss by our own hand. Hence why we fell from 9 to 22 in the AP poll because of it.
I can remember about half a dozen years when we lost to Florida, Florida lost a game, and we Vol fans waited fruitlessly for that second Gator loss that we were CERTAIN had to happen. This has bad memories written all over it

You're right bro.......especially in the 90s. My only consolation is this isn't a Spurrier or Meyer led team. Thank goodness. @OrangeTsar

He is who he has always been. We just want him to be Hooker. He's a guy that can we can win with in most games. I mean against Clemson he didn't throw for 500 yards. He played well but we ran the ball most of the time with him. Hooker just made us think every year we will have a Heisman candidate at qb. Lower your expectations some and you won't be so angry.

Do you even know what "control our own destiny" means? That means all we have to do is win.....that is not all that has to happen. UF has to lose again and we cannot play them again, therefore we DO NOT control anything. I dont care what you THINK will happen, until UF loses another SEC game we control nothing.
