How many of you would have settled for

He is who he has always been. We just want him to be Hooker. He's a guy that can we can win with in most games. I mean against Clemson he didn't throw for 500 yards. He played well but we ran the ball most of the time with him. Hooker just made us think every year we will have a Heisman candidate at qb. Lower your expectations some and you won't be so angry.

Hooker wasn’t that good of a qb when he got to Tennessee. He wasn’t great when he took over for Milton but he definitely improved and became a good one. If Milton showed some improvement that would be something but he just hasn’t. Hooker may have ran the ball like he had a hook in his mouth but he was good enough to be productive and make defenses think about it. How many read options does Milton run? How many times does he take off running when things break down and it’s there? If he does run he looks scared to death to get hit. It’s hard to put a finger on it. I guess the “looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane” is kind of fitting.

A&M is 5th in the nation in total defense (258 ypg). They have 14 sacks and 30 tackles for loss in their 2 SEC games. Their offense is in the top 40. They have as much talent as any team in the SEC.

They will not be an easy out.

Yep all of that 20 mil $ class might not be there still but nobody else’s is either.
They have players and Jimbo finally woke up and realized he was the problem on offense and hired petrino
Yeah, I only live about an hour and 45 min from College Station now so all my buddies are Aggies. From what alumni tell me here it wasn't his decision on hiring a OC he was told he had to but they let him make his own choice for hire.

Why are you surprised. He's 6-1 in last 7 starts. He's good enough to win. He's not hooker. I've accepted. I don't expect him to be 300 yards a game passer. If he plays well we can beat anyone. If he doesn't we can lose to anyone. Tells me we are prolly 9-3 to 8-4 type team.

a 4-1 record going into an open week ?
I was hoping for undefeated, but I seriously didn’t expect it.
Still can't believe we're not playing at a higher level on offense and got whooped by UF. I hate it because GA is very beatable this year and things just never fully align for us. This could have been a SECCG season.

Still could be I reckon, but I doubt it.

Serious question. What did you expect this offense to look like? Last year? I mean didn’t you know we would take a significant step back?

In Nashville during the 70s, there was a hash house called The Grill near Vanderbilt campus. After a night of drinking with the Peabody College musicians’ fraternity, the Timpani player from the city orchestra would order “Page one” at The Grill.

Those of you with 9-3, 8-4, 7-5 expectations (but OK with 11-1) remind me of him.

I thought we'd go 9-3 this year, now feels more like 8-4.... with 7-5 not a shock but a disappointment for sure. I'm fine with 11-1 though
Pretty wide latitude you've got there.

We do not control anything. We still need UF to get beat again

Wow, if you don’t see that happening multiple more times, we can’t help you. Florida will not be a factor in the East this season.

I expected us to either lose to Florida or South Carolina one and I think we have a better chance in beating Georiga than Alabama! We could also be 7-5 at season end!!

I've had them circled since the spring as a tough one to win. TBH I had Gata as a win, and AnM as a loss

I’m not that terribly disappointed with the record, although the loss
had to be against the hated Gators, as I am with the way we looked
against a couple of over matched teams. A.P. and UTSA should have
been games where we able to play many younger guys and built depth.
They were ugly wins.

Can always count on VolNation to be insufferable, regardless of the outcome of the game the night before. A lot of you folks love to wallow in misery. You're expectations were set too high after a magic year last year. 4 - 1, with plenty of football left to go, and a possibility to win the SEC, or more. Still plenty left to play for! Hyp has the boys winning games we would have lost under the old regime, where we would already be talking about tracking John Grudens PJ number. The future is even more bright. Go Vols!
This is what happens when a fan base tastes some success. The bar is set much higher, and it takes more success to satisfy us. Its actually a good thing to reset the bar higher and expect more success. A sign that the program has made it to a higher plane. Remember the late 90s when we were disappointed with losing to Florida and going 11-1?

They are still being coached by Jimbo, so they are not unstoppable.

I never said it would not happen, I did say that as of this very minute, we do not control anything.

I had us 43% being 5-0, 57% not. Perfectly in the wheelhouse.

I wouldn't say happy vs preseason. But after the UF game, quite happy.

Had us at 5-0, overall 9-3. I'm a bit nervous. No, actually I am nervous but always hopeful.
