Well, I figured there would be a lot of backlash for getting a first-round spot, but I didn't think people would actually be stupid enough to argue that we're not even in the tournament.
VN, once again, I gave you wayyyyy too much credit.

For the record I think TN got shafted , they should not be in a play-in game. I saw the committee has TN ranked as the number 44 team. That means they have 24 teams ranked below us. Why did the committee decide we have to be in a play in game when they have us ranked about 24 teams? We are in the tourney, that is fact. We are not seeded unless we beat IA, that is also fact.
If I am wrong answer the below questions.
What seed are we today ? Don't come back with 11, we are not. We are playing Iowa to be the 11 seed.
What will the seeding reflect the loser of the TN-IA to be?
The NCAA is screwed up. Every team in the tourney should be seeded. No team should have to win a game in order to be seeded.

I'm not really sure why this is so hard for you to understand, or if you're just being argumentative.
This committee amazes me more every year.
Time to change the system and let the AP handle the job.
Much more knowledgeable people.
Spot on.I think it would be better if they invited some actual "basketball" people to be on the committee. It's very telling when just about anyone and everyone that gets paid to watch and report on college basketball looks at your bracket and goes "that's just wrong". Speaking mostly of Louisville getting only a 4 seed.
I think the committee spends to much time "rewarding", "punishing" and "sending messages".
I'lll be SHOCKED if this thread isn't picked up by other fan sites. It would be sad enough that we have fans that don't understand that we are in the tournament, but it's even more sad that many of our fans DON"T WANT US TO BE CONSIDERED AS IN!!!
The Midwest bracket shows the 11 as Tennessee./Iowa. How can there be 2 eleven seeds in same bracket.
That is why they call this a play in game. The winner is in as the 11the loser is out with no seed. Only the field of 64 is seeded.
All of this is jmo:
Tennessee is technically IN the tourney. Anyone who bet against them making it owes up. The NCAA refers to it as the first round and Tennessee is in the tournament field.
Now from a fan's perspective: Many people, including myself, feel the tournament doesn't start until Thursday. The notion that 60 teams receive a bye and 8 teams play in the "first round" is laughable. What the NCAA calls the "first round" is in all reality a play in game. I think most people realize this but don't like to hear others undermining the Vols situation.
