How much better is UGA?

After Saturday I'm not sure any team is a sure win against this team, Georgia included. it'll be another close one.

The great thing about the Alabama win is that the Georgia game doesn't mean as much - assuming Tennessee takes care of the rest of its business, of course. Going 11-1 would still mean a likely playoff spot and avoiding playing Alabama again on a neutral field.

Clemson & either OSU or Mich will go undefeated. 11-1 isn’t a guaranteed spot.

I think Georgia is a lot better than bama this year especially defensively. Plus their running backs are so good Stetson doesn’t need to do much. It’s not a good matchup for us but with hooker looking as good as he has you never know.
Alabama has the best RB in the SEC and probably the Nation. We did a pretty good job on him.

UGA thrashed a good Oregon team

My feelings on the Oregon blowout is that it was the Ducks first game under a new coach, and with a new QB at the helm. That’s a tough first game against the defending National Champs. Oregon has gotten much better, and I think the score would be much closer in a rematch now. Still a great quality win for the Dawgs.

Their running game isn't really any better than ours.

We've had a lot of good luck, and we helped generate much if it but still breaks can go both ways. I could see us struggling if breaks went UGA's way. They are the kind of team that can play keep away, and maybe have enough firepower to pressure Hooker. Getting Tillman back is big.
The keep away strategy is what worries me. It’s critical we get an early lead and force them to trade touchdowns.

As usual, a couple of the usual suspects in here that should be drawing a Paycheck for carrying uga water.

We can beat them. They can beat us. But I’m not giving an inch of respect to them because they have none for anyone else. Trash program, needy, whiny fanbase. Give them praise if it makes you feel better, but know that uga fans hold you in contempt regardless.

Total defense they are much better stat wise because we give up a lot of yards. Red Zone D we're pretty close to them. Rushing D, they're 5th and we're 10th.

My brother in law and several cousins are all UGA fans and fine people. I always respect opponents and this will be one of our tougher ones.

We have already seen the best running back in the SEC. Gibbs.

They are the best team in the country until proven otherwise.

We got the stuff to take that from them like we took Dixieland Delight from Bama.

Don't get the home field advantage. UT plays well between the hedges, just haven't had the horses in recent years. Deal with UT-M and KY first, and we've got another game for the ages in Athens. Go Vols!
People could have said the same thing about us in recent years, numerous teams, but definitely Bama, Florida and UGA have throttled us in Neyland multiple times the last decade and a half, but we have served notice this year that we still have a HUGE home field advantage when we are good and our fans have something to cheer for. UGA is the same way, it's not as loud as Neyland because they will never close off the bridge, but it is plenty loud and that is a tough big game environment. They have I think 1 loss there since Kirby's first year ended.

Yesterday was a day I will never forget as a vol fan, but Heup and this team should be moving on. We should not overlook anyone, but I imagine this week we will begin gameplannig for more that just UT Martin.

As we fans look ahead how much better do we think UGA is than the Bama team we faced yesterday? They have had some struggles, and only really shrugged it off recently. I think they are the most talented team in the SEC. Their TE Bowers is a monster. Bennet is a gamer, but nowhere near as good as Young IMO. Curious on others thoughts. I think it will he an equally tough game and see their defense causing us more issues than Bama.
What makes you think they are better?

Here's Bama's schedule and results leading up to UT followed by UGA's:

Utah St. W 55-0
@ 20 Texas W 20-19
La.-Monroe W 63-7
Vanderbilt W 55-3
@ Arkansas W 49-26
Texas A&M W 24-20
@ 3 TennesseeL 49-52

#3 Oregon W 49-3
Samford W 33-0
@ South Carolina W 48-7
Kent St. W 39-22
@ Missouri W 26-22
Auburn W 42-10
Vanderbilt W 55-0

Prior to the UT game, Bama had the best statistical D in the SEC. UGA's D is statistically good but take a close look at that schedule. One game against a team that has been ranked at any point of the season, right? Oregon has climbed back into the rankings by beating an FCS team and 4 FBS teams with a combined record of 13-14. The best probably being BYU who was just taken to the woodshed by a struggling Arkansas team.

UGA's schedule has been remarkably weak. They're 4-0 in the SEC having played Vandy, USCe, Auburn, and Mizzou. If I'm not mistaken, those teams make up the bottom 4 of every SEC power ranking. USCe at 9th (SEC) is the best offense of the 4. They're all in the bottom half of the SEC in defense.

IMHO, UGA is probably not as good as Bama. I think playing them in Athens is a concern. I like that UT catches them the week after UF. They'll probably beat UF but it should be a physical, emotional game.

I'm in Georgia. Talking to all of my UGA friends today, they are scared $h!tless of our offense. Georgia will not be able to keep up with our scoring. Georgia's D is better than Bama's, but Stetson Bennett is a game manager at best. Our defense will hopefully be back at full strength by the UGA game, and that will help big time. We should also have Tillman, which just shoots our O outta this world. I would bet that we go to Athens and win by 10-20 points.

Guess we will see. I think Young and Gibbs makes Alabama more explosive but UGA has weapons. I think UGA has more overall talent. As I stated the one full game of theirs I watched was Oregon and they were dominant. Could be an outlier and I do think the Pac is weak.

I think Georgia will move the ball well on us, but Steston Bennett has only thrown 7 TDs in their 7 games so far. We are pretty good against the run as well. So as long as we can force FGs instead of TDs I like our offenses ability to score against anyone. Plus, we should have Tillman back.

If we pressure Bennett they will have problems. He's no where near as mobile and as slick at getting out of trouble as Young
