How was that not a TD?

If its so "indisputable" why did the line judge call it a TD? because it can be argued his left hand was still guiding it until after it crossed the plane.

The nose of the ball broke, u got to remember its ANY part of the ball. Either way calls just don't seem to go our way anymore. The big thing is this team is growing up and they need to build on this and don't listen to a bunch of drunk fans.

Good lord are you seriously this stupid? You're asking why at FULL SPEED, real time the line judge called it a TD?

Honest answer, if it were reversed and it was UGA that fumbled, would you even be remotely arguing that UGA got screwed?

Everyone I spoke to at the game was unanimous in their stance on this play. Then, I get home and everyone on VN is unanimous the other way. I get the he probably lost possession, but to overturn it based on that video is absurd imo. I'm still really bitter...maybe I'll see more clearly tomorrow, but I'm not budging on this for now.

I thought it may have been a fumble...but I have seen the same play ruled a TD as well....

In the end Vol fans will always say = TD
Ga fans will always say= fumble :cray::cray:

Yes it was a fumble but if it had not been out of the endzone would have just been given to the vols at the spot he fumbled. But its a stupid rule and should be fixed to do just that.

I think it's pretty clear it was a touchdown. Just because he pulled one hand off to stretch further doesn't meant he lost control. Refs blew it as usual.

The ball was still on the tips of his fingers as he scored. Being 'on it's way out' at the time of the score seems irrelevant. He was still in contact with the football and had not lost possession. I don't see how that becomes indisputable evidence to overturn a score.

for what you say to be true then Pig had the ability to move the ball from his palm to his fingertips all while diving for the endzone

I meant to say he was gripping the nose of the ball, not necessarily "palming"...like when you palm a basketball, you're still gripping strong with your fingers..

Once they slowed it down, I told my wife that would be ruled a touchback and Georgia would win by a field goal. I know Pig wanted to push it but there was no need to overextend. We had more downs. The guys played there hearts out, sucks to lose like that.

That's a fumble.

If you think that's a TD, then Gaffney made the catch in 2000.

I was the biggest UT fan on the planet today, but Pig fumbled.

It's pretty clear the ball was coming out before the goal line.

"pretty" clear shouldn't constitute an overturning of the initial call. I still don't think it's clear that he lost possession before the nose touched the plane. That's all I'll say...it is what it is. Go Vols.
