How was that not a TD?

This is not productive. It's not what you say; it's how you say it. And this says that you feel the need to denigrate people when they disagree with you. Respect. Try it on occasion.

I respect people who deserve it; his comment was stupid. To seriously act like it should have been a TD just because the line judge said so is really one of the dumbest comments I've read on here today, and that's saying a whole lot.

It doessent look like the ball came out until his wrist snapped, where it was clearly over the plane...

Indisputable, looks pretty disputable to me.

Had it been ruled the other way on the field I would have no problem with it being upheld.

That's a fumble.

If you think that's a TD, then Gaffney made the catch in 2000.

I was the biggest UT fan on the planet today, but Pig fumbled.

Again how many fingers did he have on it when it broke the plain?

No one will ever know!

Robbery. Pig clearly controlled the direction of the football with his hand until he crossed. He even changes the direction on the ball past the pylon. Clear score.

Somebody needs to explain the basis for claiming he lost possession when he never even lost contact with the football until after the score and turned the ball after he crossed.

Right, when does a b-ball player lose possession on a dunk?
Think about it.

It's only been mentioned like 6 times in this thread alone that just touching the ball doesn't constitute possession.

I've seen this go either way in replays. The vols didn't win on the scoreboard but they may have won in recruiting. This was an amazing performance for the vols. And the atmosphere was unbelievable.

Just my opinion but I see vast improvement and more importantly a team desire to never give up. I'm not a moral victory guy and this loss hurts because the vols were so close but damn them boys on the field played their tails off today and I'm proud to be a fan of this team.

If a receiver has a finger on a pass, it doesn't mean he has possession.

Pig balled out today, but he did not have possession as the ball crossed the goal line.

And I hate that you guys lost like that, but the refs made the right call on that particular play.

Im still waiting to see a definitive angle on the so-called unsportsmanlike call that set UGA up inside the red zone.

I thought it was a touchback. But having watched it, and knowing the ruling on the field, I'm leaning towards touchdown. It appears that while extending he kind of pushes the ball toward the ground. Its not as if the ball went shooting five yards down field, which likely would have happened if he had no grip. It's closer than I thought.

Its a different situation. A receiver is in a position to establish possession. The question here is whether Pig had lost possession at the time the ball crossed the plane. Can't analyze it the same way.

This is a good (albeit snarky) point. Possesion should have a firm definition. Not a " oh it looks he totally dropped it" subjective couch fan interpretation.

Like I said, I've seen much more questionable calls be overturned as touchdowns. Which in my mind means its disputable.

It was a fumble today and Gaffney did not make the catch. To say you were the biggest UT fan on the planet today is disrespectful . You should not be on this board tonight. Come back later in the week, but not tonight a$$h0le!

Maybe you shouldn't be on the board d-bag.

If you can't see Pig didn't have control of the ball as it crossed the goal line, then you'll never see it, and we'll never agree.

The Vols balled out today, I'm proud of their effort. Anyone watching the game today came away impressed with UT's effort.

But Pig didn't have control of the ball.

For calling me an a-hole, F you buddy.

I've been nothing but respectful in every thread I've posted in tonight.

This game game was a classic and you should be damn proud of your team's effort.

He was directing the ball including at a point after it crossed the plane. I'd say that is control. I won't go all tautological. The flick of the wrist after the ball crossed the plane is what strikes me in his taking his possession to its maximum point of its potential extension.
