How will the media handle Bidens sexual assualt allegation? NYT tweet lets us know...just amazing

Let me make sure I understand your response. Are you combining the media and the left? How is the left "covering it"? Would you consider the rhetoric in this coverage to be similar? Have you compared the headlines/articles?

Either you have not or your answer to my original question is you cannot show intellectual honesty on this topic, and that's ok, you at least indirectly answered my question.

I also pointed out there are key differences: (1) there is a pandemic currently, which is taking a lot of oxygen in terms of news coverage. Nothing similar during the confirmation hearings; (2) the confirmation hearings were on an expedited schedule compared to the election. He was going to be voted on in a number of days when the allegations surfaced. That's not true here, where there is plenty of time to do deep, sustained coverage of the allegations; (3) there was a clear push by Republicans to not allow Blasey Ford and other accusers to testify during the confirmation hearings. Attempts to silence generate a lot of media coverage. There is no attempt to silence Tara Reade.

Remember Rachel Crooks? Betcha that's a new name to you. She claims to have been forcibly kissed by Trump. Did that get wall to wall coverage? How about E. Jean Carroll who claimed Trump raped her in a dressing room. Did that get wall to wall coverage?

Your argument is toast in the first sentence. If this was a republican or God forbid the president the virus would be an afterthought

Why would anyone be drawn to that career path?
my bet is they have some misguided sense of "doing good" for society, which is quickly warped into political activism as a result of their coworkers and the death of actual journalism from standard news bearers to slanted or sensationalized stories, social media "slice of life" crap that no one with a brain truly cares about, and the desire to be the "next Woodward and Bernstein".

Thank God the profession is a dinosaur that will be dead soon!

That's partially it.
There is another layer or two.

And that, my friend, is called question-begging. You have assumed the truth of that which is to be proven.

Never heard of Crooks, but Carroll had a serious lack of credibility. Enough has come out to support the Biden accuser that this should be a big deal. Between the long ago Larry King phone call and the former neighbor's recounting, there are serious questions that should be asked.

Media....... slanted and agenda driven speculation, innuendo and opinion. Gossip.

Worse, incapable of doing the very basics of their job, well, the entirety of their job. A career where by a second grade education would suffice.

Who
What
When
Where
How
Why

There is no true reporting from anyone, from any site, entity, paper or any medium. Take everything with a grain of salt.

Yeah ... that is a big steaming pile of horse pucky. If CNN and msnbc were equally left as Fox is right I would tend to believe it more . CNN being where it’s at ... nope

Edit : after looking closer at it , that whole thing is laughable
It’s dated. It still has weekly standard on there. It seems pretty accurate as of 2015 (yes I see it was published in ‘18).

Fox News is too far down, the federalist is too far up, CNN too far right, OAN is probably above and to the left of where it should be, from what I’ve seen from them, here. There’s a cluster on the upper left that could probably be broken up by pushing a few down and left.

I would put The Bulwark and The Dispatch in that same cluster as Reason but you’re almost to the point where a left/right dichotomy doesn’t accurately capture the media because both left and right have an angry, aggrieved, illiberal populist faction that don’t fully share traditional liberal or conservative values and these factions are increasingly being catered to by media like Breitbart, Daily Caller, The Intercept, and Jacobin.

FLASHBACK: DNC Chair Tom Perez Said The Party Will ‘Stand Up For Women.’ Does That Include Biden Accuser Tara Reade?

Now that evidence continues to come forward in support of Tara Reade’s allegation of sexual assault against former Vice President Joe Biden, Democrats’ former statements are now coming back to haunt them.

In 2017, as the #MeToo movement kicked into high gear, Democratic National Committee (DNC) chairman Tom Perez said that politicians credibly accused of misconduct need to step aside. He said this as then-Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) was accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct, leading to his resignation.

“Sexual misconduct, harassment, and assault have no place in the Democratic Party, the United States Congress, the White House, or anywhere,” said Perez. “That’s why earlier today I called on Senator Franken to resign.”

“For far too long, our society has looked the other way and allowed men to continue this behavior in virtually every industry,” he continued. “We must do better. We must step up and fix this immediately. Regardless of party, we must live up to our values by holding ourselves accountable and leading by example.”

Perez even added that Democrats will now confront the misconduct brewing within their party ranks while denouncing Republicans for their inaction.

“There are big differences between Democrats and Republicans and this is just one of them,” said Perez. “Instead of standing up for women and confronting the problems of misconduct within their own ranks, the Republican Party has chosen to pursue power and push their radical far-right agenda at any cost. And they’ve continued to champion a president who has a long and disturbing history of misconduct with women.”

“The Democratic Party will stand up for women and for what is right. Public service is a public trust,” he concluded. “If you are a candidate for office or an elected official who has engaged in sexual misconduct, you should step aside – whether you sit in the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, or the Oval Office.”

Sen. Gillibrand Does Not Believe Tara Reade’s Accusations Against Biden

April 28, 2020

Democratic New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand said Tuesday she does not believe the sexual assault allegations brought forward by 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden’s accuser Tara Reade.

Gillibrand was asked on a conference call about allegations by Reade, who has accused the then-senator of kissing her, touching her and penetrating her with his fingers without her consent in 1993 when she was a Senate staffer for him, to which she said, “I stand by Vice President Biden. He’s devoted his life to supporting women and he has vehemently denied this allegation,” according to NBC News.
