I won't pretend to be unhappy about the effects on UF but I wouldn't wish that kind of problem on anyone... even Meyer.
That said, the timing really hurts UF. Any reasonable replacement search will take weeks. Maybe it had been going on privately for awhile but if not they're going to suffer at someone's hands in this year's recruiting. Strong would have given them someone to hold it together at least for awhile. Unless the replacement is Mullen... the current staff doesn't even know if they'll have jobs or not.
UF will still be an attractive choice for a lot of FL kids but the organization and strength of their effort will almost certainly be damaged.
Does anyone think the timing was to help save recruiting? It is the dead period and he is staying in a non-coaching role.
"Meyer has been to the hospital at least twice since suffering chest pains after the SEC title game, a Florida source told ESPN. He has been diagnosed with a heart valve muscle defect, the source said.
The problem is not life threatening, a Florida source with knowledge of the situation told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. The same source said Meyer will remain in Gainesville in a non-coaching role to be defined later."

I think elam is fsu now not us. I do not want riggs, he is too short.
It helps us because their juniors should leave now unless they get gruden. A hot hire at uf will be worse for us than if meyer stayed.

What's the difference in his height and Nickell Robey's? Everybody seems to want Robey. And Riggs is rated higher.
The Riggs info came from Duron Carter's twitter and Florida's scout site.
