The first option should be the only option for realistic fans*

*what I say during a game has no bearing on my actual feelings about the season 🤣
Couldn't have said it better myself. If we could pull off the win or make it a brawl I'd be over the moon and it would shut up a lot of naysayers. The realist in me just wants it to be a close game so that we don't drop so low we won't get back in the top 25 after Vandy. Beat Vandy Win bowl game thats the most important things this team can do the rest of this season. That would mean we end on a good note and are ranked end of the season probably top 15. That will have a lot of meaning to recruits in the transfer portal..especially all those 5 stars at A&M looking for new homes

Just a temp check on what happens if we do pull it off this weekend.

And yes I know, "It don't matter because we ain't beating Georgia", but just humor me here.

If you told me this season would consist of being 9-3 with a win over the #1 team in the country, I would have thought we ended the 20 year streak in Tuscaloosa....

I live just north of Atlanta and my mother in-law lives in Athens and my brother in-law went to UGA and they are big Georgia homers. I would love to finally be able to brag about a win over Georgia. 7 years has been an eternity since the last one.
Over here in Acworth, I feel your pain

Honest question… in what way would a loss on Saturday “destroy” Georgia’s season?

A 12-1 SEC champ will get into the playoff, whether it’s Georgia or Alabama.

Trust me it would take them time to get over it! They are all in 3 peat mode - it would bring them back to reality. Yes they could still make the playoffs but the blemish would be there and you can bet us Tennessee folks will never left those UGA fans we converse with every day forget who they lost to.

Just stop dude. Take the tinfoil hat off.

No he's absolutely spot on here. There's no way anyone can claim there isn't a heavy officiating bias towards the top SEC teams this year, and against the teams that could threaten them.

1 penalty for 5 yards man. Never forget.

Heupel and his staff would get more recruits from the Peach State to seriously consider Tennessee if he can beat Smart on Saturday afternoon.

Question. Do you think last year’s team was less penalized than this year’s? I do, and perhaps it’s because we received officiating bias because we were a top SEC team.

I'm in Cobb and my son-in-law is a UGA grad so I know the pain first hand.

I would be ecstatic, but I also expect to beat UGA, Bama, and UF when they come to Neyland, any year.
As you should.

I am not exactly confident with this years team after last weekend. They would have to really play lights out to keep it close.

Georgia is the kind of team that can win the national title this year. Beating a program like that would be huge.

Yes, and I agree that's why. Until we botched it with South Carolina, I think we were pretty much the surefire second team to get into the playoffs from the SEC.

This year when we were an absolute laughing stock at Florida we sent a clear message that we weren't that team. But then when we were striping Alabama in the first half... well you get the jist.

I agree, 100.

Since Georgia just became the number one team in the college football playoff, it would be nice if Tennessee could return the favor from last year.

It would rank up there with knocking off #1 Auburn back when Bo played…they key to that game was that we were just more physical. They had more talent but our guys hit harder and never let up. Auburn blinked and we just kept pounding them on every play.
They had Bo, who is one of the all time badasses

I voted in the poll and now I kinda wish I hadn’t given it the satisfaction. Why is the second choice “meh”? If we beat the #1 team in the country on Saturday and those 36 (as of this writing) are just “meh” or thinking this is a bad season, then you’re not true Vol fans.
