If we go 4-1 and lose only to Kentucky in the SEC tournament depending on our seeding we should have an RPI of 55 to 70 adding on a couple spots for the loss to KY.

2nd or 3rd seed = RPI of 55
4th seed = RPI around 70
5th seed = RPI around 65

Alright, Big Orange Bo questioned your numbers on the first page and you responded with this:

Are those numbers really facts? No, they are possible but there are many possibilities if we go 4-1 and the RPI numbers could range from 45 to 70 depending on how it plays out. Like I said before, don't point to those tournament forecasts to defend your position. Explain how you came to those numbers yourself.

explain to me how 4-1 and 2-1 you get 70:whistling:

in all honesty all these are ranges. depending on who you play option 1 would be anywhere from 45-55, option 2 is pretty much spot on because thats going 1-1, and option 3 could be 60-65.

all of this really honestly depends on who you play. by this time next week the picture will be much clearer, right now in all honesty all these possibilities are just giving me a headache haha

just keep winning vols and everything will work out

Please explain what you mean. No need for whistling.

i actually didnt mean to press that smilely it was supposed to be the confused one...anyway

i wondering what scenario you see that going 4-1 and winning in the sec t do we end up 70 or lower

even a 4 seed we're going in at 78, win against the 5 seed which at this point would be miss st if we jumped them for 4th, and you would gain about 15 spots moving to 63. lose to uk and you shouldnt fall at all, maybe 1 spot.

i just dont see how we end up 70 or worse

I'd set that range from 67 to 70. 1 or 2 spot drop

Alright man I'm outta here-all gettin blurry. I do enjoy your posts. They just gotta win out for no doubt.

i know what you mean. its too tempting though to want to talk about it, atleast to me, that its hard to refrain from the talk. best thing though will be next week around this time we should have a much better idea of where everything is, and atleast at that point will know who needs to beat who to help us out the most.

I think Martin has done a great job but it is a real stretch to make the big dance. Just too many bad losses. Winning the NIT would be a shot in the arm.

Winning 4 out of the next 5 is really all it takes, and then a decent showing in the sec t getting 2 wins there. That at the very least make us a bubble team. You don't think this team can do that?

I'm not gonna say its easy, but I feel they are definitely more than capable of doing it with their recent play.

Thanks for the posts first off. Hard to stop reading all the RPI information, loved it. :hi:

I agree as well going 4-1 with take some mental toughness imo because you know these guys have to be getting a little worn down but the winning helps I know. I will say though even if we dont make it to the dance and can make a strong showing in the NIT I will consider that a definate success.

Absolutely. Making the NIT is no small accomplishment and I hope people don't over look it if we do miss the tourney.

Tomorrow at 3:30 we'll know for sure if this team has turned the corner.
I think they have but I've been wrong before.
A good jump into the 90s or high 80s and you'll pick up a lot more believers.

Not to mention getting out of the 100's gets UT off every's resume as a "bad loss". Man I hate seeing that.

Hey Bleed what would do you think would happen if this happend? Say we stumble and go 3-2 and lose to Bama and say lsu or ole miss but we win our first round game and somehow upset Ky in the tourney. You think we get an at large?

If we lose go 3-2 your looking at a rpi around 95 heading into the sec t. If you win 3 games the last one being UK but lose say to Florida in the championship ending at 19-15, I'd see our rpi being around 55-60. Still a feasible rpi to be considered a bubble team, BUT there hasn't been a 15 loss team make the dance as an at large in atleast 15 years and maybe more.

That's right. I was thinking Georgia a few years ago but they won the tournament outright so they wasn't an at large bid. Like you said alot of variables right now but it will be interesting to see which way it plays out.

Jesus, forget the RPI guys. If Tennessee goes 4-1 with a win over Vandy and wins two in the SEC tourney, they are dancing. Hell, they might not even have to win two
