Why regulate social norms anyway? This country was founded on the premise of freedom. There are plenty of things that society finds offensive, but outlawing them would go against that basic tenant of our founding principles. I find it disgusting when obese women wear midriff shirts, I get sick to my stomach to see an old man in a speedo, and I hate seeing anyone make out in public. However, if it gets to a point where the government starts at outlawing actions that society finds offensive, I'll know there's no freedom left in this country.

Huckabee isn't my guy, but he is correct in his slippery slope comparison. Once you start eroding away what the definition of marriage is, then you could make the very same justifications for polygamy. I won't go as far as incest, but you may have some Haight-Ashbury liberals that may like incest.Mike Huckabee, a possible Republican presidential candidate in 2012, says the effort to allow gays and lesbians to marry is comparable to legalizing incest, polygamy and drug use.
Huckabee Likens Gay Marriage to Incest, Polygamy - ABC News
How do you guys feel about Huckabee as a possible GOP candidate? Like? Dislike? Don't care?
As far as procreation and keeping things going, they are not. It's a choice based on comfort level with the partner, the need to feel loved, and the feeling of acceptance. I really doubt the duck that's taking it in the tail feathers really enjoys it. Is that documented?? If so, how would they know??
But, but.... that would make him wrong... Can't have thatI'm not sure what your point is. You said that gays were not a part of God's natural laws and I pointed out that there plenty of species in nature that exhibit homosexual behaviour. Therefore, they are a part of God's natural laws. In your opinion, God did make the animals, did he not?
I'm saying using animal behavior to argue about the bible is stupid, because it's not like the bible puts a great deal of emphasis on how great animals are.
You keep asserting that I'm arguing about the bible, which I'm not. I'm simply saying that homosexuality is a part of nature, as represented by the many animals who exhibit that behaviour.
On the other hand, you're arguing for the bible because....well, I don't know. I think you're trying to say that it doesn't matter what other mammals do, humans are somehow exempt from that part of nature.
