Huckabee Likens Gay Marriage to Incest, Polygamy

it's really not that bad. i remember when i first starting dating my fiance we made out in a bar for like 2 hours (something i dont' think i've seen a gay couple do in public). i'm sure that made people fairly uncomfortable too, but it seems silly to regulate such behavior.

It's different though. Two straight people is WAY more accepted than two gay men making out in a bar. Of course, it's it's the Blue Oyster, then that's a different story.

That maybe the case, but the majority of the people in this country are straight and don't want to see things like that. Demographics drive legislation, for the most part.

But is preventing homosexuals from getting married going to keep you from seeing them make out with each other? I'd say the opposite result would happen. At least, when I married my wife, all PDA ceased immediately.

That was by her choice, wasn't it?? :p

Trust me, I feel your pain. :)

At the present time, yes. 20 years from now, not so much. It comes down to whether you want to learn to accept something that is different and you have very little exposure to, or resist accepting it until you're in the minority.

If straight people are ever in a minority here in the US, I will be living elsewhere.

Truly sad that we are becoming a more accepting society. And the clown in office is the ringleader. Well done America.

Quite sad. Unfounded hate and intolerance are much better.

Yeah, we should just let the gates down of everything that our society believes as unacceptable in their eyes and let chaos roam free. Talk about bringing down the US quickly and efficiently. This is what the people think about it, at this time, and not some clown in Washington.

i guess the degrees of unacceptability dont' matter? or the effect of the unacceptable actions on other people's lives?

right i forgot the "i don't hate you as a person, but i just want you to know your actions are going to send you to hell" is a loving message.

I have never told anyone that. People can make their own choices. I don't have to agree or accept them, however.

I can separate wrong choices from a person. What's wrong with that?? Should I encourage them to keep doing something I don't agree with??

It's up to the people to decide, period. The lesbian connection is what leads people to believe homosexuality is ok, but if they flash two men making out then it's wrong my everyone. Both are wrong, IMO, but society wants you to sell them something sexy.

Of course not. But when you say "Truly sad that we are becoming a more accepting society", it makes you appear to be one who doesn't want to accept that things change.

Things will change whether you accept them or not. You still don't have to like them, but to infer that we shouldn't become a more accepting society makes you look, well, closed minded.

And this statement makes you look like a college coed that would try anything once, whether it's good for you or not.

so if the people decide to make gay marriage legal you wont have a problem with it? personally i think it's going to happen in many states a lot sooner than many think. 5-10 years.

What is closed minded about not accepting gays because of what I believe in?

huge difference between encouraging them and telling them they are going to hell.

Telling them they are going to hell isn't going to change the actions. They have to discover they are on the wrong road themselves. I can only try to be a positive influence on them.
