Classic move from the “I took a big guess” playbook. Honestly I don’t think this comes down to an inability to come to terms. If JP wants Hugh then he’ll be able to get him. If JP decides its too risky of a play this early in his career, then he’ll go a safer route and that may be why the delay. Maybe its Enos and they’re trying to decide is exit from UA. While I think Freeze is a splash hire and of course I want him, it’s not my coaching career on the line. This is a biiiig hire early in his tenure. If he doesnt feel like HF could be here say 3 seasons then I think its a big risk given where our roster talent is. We are not UA where we can mask a new OC. Trust me, I am rooting for you to be right. The only thing I am 100% sure of is that no former player or “source” you could have would have an update on the negotiation status. I GUARANTEE you that. I know someone that would be in the negotiation phase (to a point) and they aren’t talking.
