Hulu and Amazon Originals

The Offer (series about the making of The Godfather) is pretty good. Sometimes it's campy (the scenes with Puzo and FFC, mostly) and I think my useless but formidable knowledge of events is getting a little in the way of my enjoyment, but overall I'd say it's really good. Matthew Goode steals every scene he's in and there is almost immediate buy-in with Myles Teller, and I wasn't sure what I'd think going in.

Watched the first two episodes and it’s ok. The critics tore it apart which gives me hope as most the time I don’t like anything they do.

This appears to be one of "those" shows. IMDB is at 8.2, which is quite good. On Rotten Tomatoes the average "tomatometer" is only a 36% but the average audience score is 93%.

In any case I like it overall but they rely a bit too much on flashbacks IMHO.

I agree, i liked it but got tired of the flashbacks to the same scene over and over.

Amazing that Ruddy is going strong in his 90’s. He navigated this heavy, political production but mostly fronted lighter hearted fare like The Longest Yard and Cannonball Run and of course Hogan’s Heroes from the beginning.

I thought The Offer was pretty dang good, don’t know how close to the truth it was but it was a good show.

I mean, nobody knows what the exact conversations were, so we gotta rely on Ruddy for those truths, but as far as events go, it's pretty damn accurate from what I know. And that's why it hinders my enjoyment. I knew that in episode 1...

Frank Sinatra was going to have a freakout on Puzo. That really happened. If the show is the first time you hear about it, that'll blow your mind. But I already knew and in my head, it was better than what the show depicted. The way Puzo told it, FS wouldn't even look at him in the eye. Puzo thought he was a coward.

Finished up terminal list last night. It was good overall and I just got the next book in the series. Looking forward to it

Shorsey is better than the last few seasons of Letterkenny. I really liked it. I hope they do more.

RE: The Old Man....I was trying to remember where I know Amy Brenneman from, and I finally placed her. She's in Heat, where she plays a woman who is in love with a dangerous, older man and willing to go on the run with him from the authorities, LOL.
