Hunter made more big plays in 2010 than 2012. He got all of his stats this year against the lame teams. I don't recall him making any big time plays against the good teams in 2012. Hunter was better in 2010 than in 2012. Agree or disagree? Oh, and what is this every time he catches the ball he has to stop and try to juke side to side? Drops on 3rd and 4th down, had a pass bounce of his face saturday. Did he out jump any good DB for a ball this year? He will get eaten alive in the NFL.

I think he is more NFL ready then some care to admit.

I would love for him to stay and think it would benefit him to stay, but I can't blame him if he goes.

He has a kid
He has the ability

Hunter has physically returned but he has not mentally. He needs more college time to improve. He also needs to learn the laws of physics. When he has momentum turn it upfield instead of stopping and dropping.

say what you want.. at the end of the day he has over 1000 yards receiving with another game to go and is 18th nationally in receiving. Without him we wouldn't have the offense we had all season.

And the point of this thread is?

Oh that's right it's to bash a 20 year old young man coming off of an ACL injury. Quit being an ******* it makes us all look bad.

I think the drops, the falling down, and the east ,west moves are signs that he is thinking and not just reacting. when he fixes that he will be a very special player again.

You are seeing what everyone with their eyes open are seeing.

It is easy to lay all the blame on Dooley or even the D. But Bray has choked repeatedly under pressure. Hunter has dropped several balls that were the difference between sustaining a drive or scoring points and not. It is really no surprise that CP is unpolished as a WR. It is surprising that JH has not been nearly as good as before the injury.

If it were just a lack of acrobatic catches or other things that could be attributed to the knee then it would be understandable. But he has dropped passes and failed to make plays on catchable balls. He has also had a much, much tougher time creating space. That was once the amazing thing about him. Even as thin as he was, he always seemed to command a coverage cushion. Every good D has played up in his face this year and gotten away with it.

IMHO, when NFL scouts who are responsible for spending their teams' money really take a close look at JH... his draft stock is going to drop like a rock. Guys who drop passes and can't get off press coverage do not do well in the NFL.

I agree. I was a scout from 2003 -2005

So recognizing the truth that someone is not playing as well now as they played before is "bashing" them? An ACL injury causes a receiver to drop balls that hit them in the chest or hands?

UT just fired a coach. Others will lose their jobs. I agree with those decisions but while you are evaluating how the season fell apart you have to look at the failings of your "star" players too. They get the glory because of their ability and great play... criticism is the flip side of that if they do not play up to that ability.

The OP never said JH was a bad guy, lacked talent, or would never be a great WR again. He rightly recognized that JH was not the player this year that he was before.

If he is projected in the first round, he almost has to take the money.

Then again, he could return for his senior year, blow it up, and then be the first receiver taken which is crazy dough.

Bottom line is that Hunter has a decision and his resembles Rogan's more than Berry's.

There's obviously risks associated with returning. Maybe he gets no better. Maybe he gets hurt again. There are also risks with leaving. If NFL scouts see the drops and inability to get off coverage as things they are unsure he will overcome then he could drop completely out of the draft.

Done with Dooley, now hunting someone other person associated with the Vols to bash?

You people should be focused on looking for a new coach that brings out the best in players instead whine hunting.

2010? You mean the year he only had 16 catches and 432 receiving yards? Come on, man.

And he didn't do anything against big teams in 2012? Did you watch any games? Let's review his season against "big teams" this year:

NCSU: 9 catches, 73 yards.
FL: 5 catches, 76 yards, including a 42-yarder
Ala: 4 catches, 70 yards, including a 44 yarder
USC: 8 catches, 90 yards

What more do you want from the guy, especially with a freak like Patterson on the other side getting half the targets?

It is a "what have you done lately" world. I doubt any team will take him in the first round. Any GM who does.... better hope it works out and quickly.

he may have had 1000 yds, but look who they were against. i like Justin, even though, he is more full of himself than anyone else on the team. Did not seem to take coaching too well. It is a shame because we all knew how good he could be from watching him in 2010 and the beginning of 2011. I like Hunter. I just don't like the way he played football for UT in 2012. We could have won several more games if he had played the way he was capable of

2010- 7 td's.
I did not notice any TD's against NCSU,Bama,Fla,USCjr on your post. No offense , but I would rather he had 1 catch for a TD in each of the games you refferenced. Not bashing or hating. Just an observation. Oh, Georgia counts too. Did he score in that game?
