I stand by what I said. No one has to like or agree with it. I’m not here to coddle people and rah rah. He’s elite. Would be great if he was still here. He left. Big deal. Just wish we still had him.

Says the guy that reported "GTFO".

Yea I miss those 2 YD runs and getting caught behind from 300+ lineman.

Yep, tough to run while dragging the other two defensive line and weaving in and out of the o-line on th turf.

When will our "fans" realize that hurd ran hard eventhough he was not in a good system for him and a bad offensive line. His freshman and sophomore years he got his head beat in but kept running hard. I guess its hard for "fans" that didn't play the game to understand how hard it was flr hurd.

He didn't handle his situation well but he was also dealing with goober of head coach.

You make good points here. But the fact remains that Hurd was nowhere near elite. He didnt have breakaway or top end speed. He got ran down from behind many times. Yes he was tough but my goodness at his size he should have been. Look at Hurd compared to Derrick Henry. Forget the teams they were on, just gomback and watch both of them. Henry is way better in every facet. If he was so elite, he would have stayed at RB. Instead, he knew where his future was and switched positions.

Travis Henry Jamal Lewis Travis Stephens I guess those guys weren’t elite either since he was gonna break every one of their records

I’m not a salty fan . I’ll be cheering for him and I personally think he has the potential to be a top 10 pick in the draft

Hurd doesn’t belong in the same breath as those 3 Elite backs. They were Elite. Hurd was never Elite. At some point and time over the course of their careers Fulmer put the game on their backs and they willed the Vols to some big time wins. Hurd was never able to accomplish that. Hell I bet Hurd never had a longer run than 25 yards.

Every one of those guys played behind great o lines and had a great scheme.
