Hurricane Irma

Polk county got hit pretty hard. About 60% still without power. Lots of big trees down and roof damage everywhere. Think I saw only 2 red lights working when I went out earlier. Hopefully we get a few dry days so we can clean this mess up

You guys have power I assume?

Saw a transformer blow up this morning..it was like a bomb packed with the northern lights of Iceland..

How close were you? I had one close to my house blow during an ice storm years ago. I was looking out the second floor window about 30 ft from the pole.....

We'll be getting the rain and wind here tomorrow. It'll probably end up canceling our training

Never lost power. No house damage. The only thing I have is tree debris in my yard. I have two hugh tree limbs and to be honest they don't match any tree on my street. No idea where they came from.

Oh well, time to go find an open liquor store then start sawing!

79, cleaning up.

We left the Space Coast Friday morning and are staying about 55 miles inland in SC. Understand 66% of our county has no power and we're under a "boil water" order. We're headed back tomorrow. Were originally going back today but extended 1 day.

WE lost power, tree limbs, trees, and cell service (wife's phone has it for the moment), but that dang bucket sat there unscathed! Boom

High winds...

Had some strong constant wind, and some powerful gusts. Only number I've seen for sure was gusts of 58 here before we lost power yesterday. Trees down everywhere, and 90% of the county lost power is what someone stopped by and told us earlier.

Our house survived with only 1 screen panel blown out. The Sunday paper was even still in the driveway when we got home yesterday.

Our office is another matter. We just spent the morning with some of our employees getting everything we could out. We're near a river that is overflowing more by the minute from runoff. This was the view from our backdoor an hour ago. I'm afraid tomorrow will not be a good day.

Saw in the online Telegraph that the cherry trees took a whoopin'. I'd hate to have one of those giant pines near Ingleside and Pionono fall on my house.

Our county in northeast Georgia is a mess. We drove out earlier, and saw several houses with trees through them. Power lines are down, or trees hanging on them. Stop lights aren't working, with several on the ground. All the grocery stores are closed, and believe it or not, so is Walmart! I'll be honest, this caused a much bigger mess than I would've ever imagined all the way up here.
