Both CSB and St George Island are going to get hit hard. I just read Jim Cantore and his team will be in Apalachicola. You never want to be where he is.

We used to have a place on CSB. Man I miss it. Indian Pass Raw Bar on a Saturday night was awesome. Still have a lot of friends in Port St. Joe and Apalach too. We are praying for them. It looks like the predicted track of the storm right now has it going right over the stump hole (you should know where that is).

They ought to be fine over on the Atlantic side. Just a rainy day or two.

I wouldn't get too comfy, another one warming up in the Atlantic. Looks to dissipate out in the middle, but you never know...

Our place is on the Cape , not that far out past the stump hole. A neighbor told me that they have removed some of the boulders protecting the road, in order to move equipment for the beach restoration, which was to start yesterday. They were preparing to pump sand from the ocean floor, and spread it from the stump hole out to Billy Rish State Park.

The plan is to widen the beach to a couple hundred feet. It is getting pretty narrow in some places due to erosion. The road may get destroyed without the rock wall, and there will be no way out onto the Cape. Hopefully, they get it shored up before tomorrow.

It looks like it's heading straight for our place on Cape San Blas. I hope I still have a house standing after mid-week.

Best wishes. We have a place in Miramar but on the 14th floor. We're on the better side of the storm.

New models showing a strong Cat 5. Wind shear is only help creating a exhaust for the system. I don't think a lot of us are taking it seriously. This will be the one of the strongest hurricanes to hit the Gulf.

Yikes... I'm 200 miles inland and I just got issued a Tropical Storm Warning.

We left Seacrest at 5am this morning. Lots of traffic but thankfully moving throughout. Hope the damage isn’t too bad but sounds like this thing will pack a punch.

We're in HHI and the amount of rain this thing is sucking in off the Atlantic is incredible.

Made it back to Knoxville about 5pm today. We didn't know what to expect for traffic delays thankfully the drive back was better than the drive down but we also left at 4am. I'm watching the weather channel and things are getting worse. The amount of heat the gulf water was holding before this storm rolled over it was pretty high, this just added a LOT of fuel to the hurricane. This hurricane was at 973 mb(the lower it goes the stronger the storm gets) yesterday at 10pm and they just updated the data and it's dropped to 947 mb with winds of 125 mph. In addition the wind shear they were expecting to push it back east isn't holding up. In my opinion not enough people were under mandatory evacuation soon enough and there are a lot of people who think they are in a safer spot than they really are.

I'm curious what we'll actually get up here. I've heard a good bit of rain and strong winds, to a little rain. I did see at work they're calling for Athens to get up to 6" of rain, and I'm not too far from there.

They had two families from here on the news last night. One was in PCB and had packed up to head home. One was in Destin and was preparing to ride it out. People like that make me wish you could reach into your tv and shake them. Why risk your family’s lives because you’re salty a hurricane messed up your fall break?
