Hurricane Michael

It's raining pretty good outside my house, but it's not a deluge...That scares me, the proverbial "calm before the storm".

Unfortunately, I live in the PC area, a little area within PC called Lynn Haven, to be exact...I have two school aged kids, and even though we're not technically in one of the designated flood zones, I'm still freaking out.

Why didn't you evacuate? Man, I would have been out of there at the first warning lol.

A friend of mine retired to Mexico Beach, that's where he and his wife live...Hope it doesn't get bad....
I see that sustained winds are up to 145, and seas could be up to 13 ft high with landfall...

It's crazy. Storm surge is really the killer in these things. Yeah, the winds are bad and disastrous too, but I do not want to be in the middle of a 13 foot high storm surge unless i am on a boat.

I’m guessing many people haven’t had the chance to do so. This thing got in too fast, not leaving much time to board things up and get belongings before heading inland.

going to be a massive disaster - heavy heart for all those who are going to lose so much.

I've been hitting the panhandle since the mid 70s. It's truly one of the great beach areas.

The lightning is apparently indicative of a storm that is increasing in strength and intensity. Continues to do so, right up to landfall...

Now there saying Michael has strengthen to 150mph and possible 16ft storm surge, looking more like Mexico Beach is the bullseye... Also it could become a CAT 5 before making landfall, not good news...
It's only about 30 to 40 miles from the coast...
