Watching coverage and thinking of all my friends down there.... looks like this might have been a little less severe than anticipated. The damage will still be severe, but it could have been worse. Prayers have been answered.

The spaghetti models had this thing nailed starting Sunday night/Monday morning. The mean had it making landfall south of Tampa Bay, plus some significant weakening on the way there, and fortunately that is exactly what happened. This will still be bad for those affected, but I think a worst-case scenario was avoided.

It moving south really helping Bay area. It was pushing water outa Tampa Bay. We are now getting front end of Hurricane force winds. About 90 over in Brandon which os in E hillsborough county

65 mph gust in Charlotte Co. Winds suppose to decrease after midnight. 91K+ without power is SWFL.

Wouldn't wanna try n stand up in either one of those winds!! That speed is gonna do some damage in such a populated area....Sad. I pray for those folks.
But glad it didn't come ashore in Charlotte Co. people there are still rebuilding from Ian 9/29/22.
