I am humbly amused by Ms. Staley's misfortune...

Far be it from me to defend DS, but the timeouts got used when they couldn't inbound the ball. Also, DS said after the game she told her team to use the non shooting fouls and they couldn't or didn't. But fire em all anyway!

They tried to foul with eight seconds but the Refs ignored the nice little hug that Cardosa gave the Kentucky player. She got rid of it before she could do more to Massengil and they couldn't catch her before she threw the pass to Edwards. The Dpoy of the year who had already given up two layups to Edwards in the final minute then failed to be in position to close on Edwards quick enough to prevent the three shot. From the score being 62 to 57 SC Edwards scored the last seven points for Kentucky to win the game going against the Dpoy.

I'm deleting my post. I didn't realize I had posted in this thread until I had already posted. This thread title is inappropriate at best and does not reflect well on the fan base. It's something a 14 year old would write after getting tanked up on yahoo chocolate drink.

That might as well have been written by Tennessee fans, because the same stuff is all over FB and VN. But do you call out Tennessee fans who do even worse, like calling Dre Edwards a man or transgender on Margo's FB group or here?

Let's not pretend that we don't have the same kind of sh!tty fans that say even worse stuff than what you shared.
Who is Margo? I’m not on FB, so if it’s in Margo’s group, take that up with her. I call out what I see, but most of my friends on Twitter are very kind. Message boards are totally different in my opinion. I will call you out. I don’t think you’re a UT fan, I think you’re an undercover UConn fan.

Even so, we know she's not a man. It's just a nasty thing to say. There are/have been Tennessee players that are far from feminine, and other fans saying crap like that would (rightfully) cause an uproar. But it's crickets when the TN fanbase posts that kind of 💩about players from other teams.
Show me where it’s been posted. If it’s on Twitter I will gladly call them out.

Wow, I never thought I'd be exposed. How ever did you find out my hidden secret? Yes, I'm truly a die hard UConn fan. My rarely talking about them was in the hopes of trying to hide my true identity, but you're too smart for me.

You don't know who Margo is but you claim to be a LV fan? Obviously, you haven't been a fan for long then. I'll let others answer that question.

Anyway, the answer is you see what you want to see. Have fun throwing stones from your glass house, you hypocrite.

I won't speak on what i haven't seen but what i have seen is a SC fan and other of their fans DELIGHT AND REVEL in the fact OUR coach died of a horrible disease! I have posted it and could repost again.

Myself and others came to Dawn and her players defense when whatever went down in Mizzu a few years ago (allegation of spitting) and things were being thrown around by fans from different schools (yes some UT fans) about thugs and such forth and both white and black UT fans called them out which got the posts removed.

Also i was someone who reported the whole she is a man post. So while we have some sh!tty fans and you have seen my posts because i will @ them quickly.

I’ve been a fan since the 90s. I am from a real city and have JOBS and a family. I love my Lady Vols but I don’t know all the rabid little factions of the fan base.
If you’re going to call me names, get it right. It’s Dr. Hypocrite to you. Put some respect on my name.

Thank you! No one was saying our fans are angels. But I’ve NEVER seen any other fan base denigrate Pat and her legacy or our players the way SC fans have. Not even UConn’s fans.

They came to the defense of how disgusting it was. Also, let's be clear it was more than just one fan it was some adding on and the likes for me! When i posted it on here and i @ SC fans there were some that spoke up about it not being ok but the regulars either didn't log on of just didn't respond which speaks volumes in itself

One of the great joys of my life is being a life long Lady Vol fan, particularly a Lady Vol fan living in South Carolina. The one thing I've learned is that fans will be fans, some good, and some bad. Fans will respect and disrespect, and fans will hurt and injure, and inspire and support. This the nature of fandom. Each of us have to decide what kind of fan we want to be, good or bad. Women's basketball in SC has really never been good, and if I'm really honest, it was less than that until Dawn Staley. It took Coach Staley 4yrs. to topple UT and become top team and program in the SEC. She has been a winner at every level, and trailblazer for women and women of color. She is a champion; a national champion coach, an Olympic champion- athlete and coach, and a world champion. Coach Staley is one of the top four current coaches in the power 5 (Auriemma, Mulkey, VanDerveer), like her or not, she has earned the same level of respect as the best coaches in the country. I know this will not happened as it didn't happen for Coach Pat Summitt in some circles, but she is a great coach still. Personally, I hope SC never beat us again, but there are times when you should to do the right thing as Pat always said, and standing up for Coach Dawn Staley is the right thing to do. Further, Krya Elzy is doing an incredible job, good lord, her team just beat the #1, #2, and #3 teams in the SEC to become SEC Champions. I know of no other coach who has done that in SEC history. Kellie is doing a great job as well, she had us as high as #4 in the country before injuries beset the team. I think there is enough respect and support to go all around, or not. We don't have to like people to respect their accomplishments.

Way too measured and thoughtful for this string! ;) Great post! Go Lady Vols!

Now why would I call you "Doctor" when I'm not a patient under your medical care? On a related note, I've worked with academic medical centers for the last 25+ years. In all of those years, I've never had a single physician (at least in the US) demand that they be called "Doctor". I'm usually conservative the first time I meet with one at work and refer to them as such, but 100% of the time they ask me to call them by their first name...whether a clinic physician or c-suite exec. A handful of times, I've had some snippy PhD's who puff out their chest and demand that they be referred to as "Doctor". I just shrug it off and continue to refer to them by their first name...because I can. I would bet good money that I'm dealing with the latter here because I've yet to meet a physician who was so insecure that they had to throw their title out there as if anyone cares.

Oh, and "real city"? I live in a larger metropolitan area than St. Louis. Not impressed. #sorrynotsorry.

I respect you because you do exactly that, as evidenced by this thread. Unfortunately, there are many other posters who hold other fanbases to higher standards than they set for their own.

The fact that we lost by 9 and played pretty poorly, shows me that we are a better team. We should have won that game. Period.
No, I don't are current configuration could have done what KY just did: Beat 4 good to grat teams in 4 straight days. Wish we could but just don't have that type of depth.
