We remember SC's last loss to Mizzou which began an impressive run through the SEC.
The Gamecocks issue is that they are so dominant against everyone that they tend to get complaisant once they get a big lead. This loss may teach a lesson and help them win it all this year.

Maybe it takes a loss to refocus the Lady G's for the playoffs.

No why would you say that? She has built an excellent program at SC through recruiting and that is how all teams win. There are a lot of better X and O coaches but they don't have the players. If and when she didn't have the players at SC first four seasons into season five you see the results. SC will be good as long at they can out recruit everybody if it ever evens out they will be like everybody else in the SEC.

I’ll also add based on good sources that Dawn is among those coaches who try to convince recruits that Lady Vols are done. Dawn might be a nice person in some ways, but …..

I I can agree with that. She could not win at South Carolina until she started filling the cupboards with 5 star athletes. She Has 11 McDonald All Americans and they have trouble scoring often. Those players did not become all Americans because of their defense. The Olympic games she coached were not nearly as wide of margins as they should have been and they lost to a college team and to a WNBA All-Star team. If you have the best players in the country on your team, the least you can do is put them in a position to score effectively.

That is not true. She won her first regular season title with one McDonald All American. Tennessee at that time was loaded with them.

Dawn took a team to the sweet sixteen with the tallest player only being 6'0 tall. Also with that same team they beat Tennessee who was loaded with Mcdonalds All American. Dawn is just as good of an X and O coach as Kelly.
