Hopefully tebow will learn to keep his head on a swivel.

Can a Florida fan please tell tebow to stop wearing 3 piece suits? It looks like he is trying to be a 1930's stockbroker.

So, if another player with "flu like symptoms" were to sneeze on Tim Tebow, I'm assuming this should be a flag also? We have to protect the quarterbacks.....:whistling:

That was definitely a late hit and should have been flagged. Calls are blown all the time, and this is one of them.

So, how is a late hit in the context of the game of football in any way equivalent to trying to gouge someone's eye in the context of football?

I thought he was going for an even more effeminate Harry Potter look.

I watched it and thought at the time, and still do, that the defensive player looked around a little, saw no offical watching, and gave Tebow a healthy shove. Nothing he couldn't take and he wasn't hurt.

But when the argument is made that Spikes' offense wasn't that bad because he wasn't successful, the retort from the Vols faithful has been that he meant to do Easley harm, and that was what mattered. Well, it seems pretty obvious from this video that the UGA player meant to do Tebow harm, too.

If not actually gouging out Easley's eyes is irrelevant because it was the attempt that matters, then so does this fellow's taking a cheap shot at Tebow.

In fairness to y'all, I think this incident got lost in the shuffle of what came out afterwards as to Spikes. The complaint we Gator fans have is that the reaction to Spikes of "the horror! the horror!" has been a little bit much. My original post was simply to point out that there were plays in the other direction that could be indicted on the same principles you all claim to espouse as to Spikes, but then are not willing to universally apply as to the late hit on Tebow, and that the reason you change your theory is to justify using the whole thing as an opportunity to just criticize all things UF.

I get it. We all do. We understand what its really about. Just making sure you guys realize we know the reality of the situation.

It's not, by any stretch of the imagination, but you must not forget you are debating the ignorant.

Take note of the fact that nothing that Georgia did is going to bring a penalty from Slive or Richt.

I figure as much.

I am sure most people will view it as just Florida going nanny nanny boo boo, they were doing it too in relation to the Spikes controversy. Ironic in that the defense to the Spikes incident was that it was tit-for-tat, as is arguably pointing out the late hit on Tebow.

And the world keeps turning. And next week there will be another set of these issues.

Right we forgot, because the whole country (football fans and sports journalist) is against UF. It is what happens when you are on top.

(Even though after 3 request you have failed to cite any other examples of this piling on phenomena)

Was it a late hit? Yes. Is hitting part of football? Yes. Last time I checked, eye gouging is not a football move.

Right. Because a late hit and an eye gouge are comparable. You see both every week in football.

As far as hits go, that was pretty weak. Now if he pulled a shank and stabbed Tebow, then you might have a complaint.
exactly. One is a heat of the action spur of the moment bad decision that typically results in a 15 yard penalty. The other was a decision made by the player outside of actual action and was clearly an intent to injure another player during a dead ball.

Spare us the lame ass comparisons.

Spur of the moment?

Did you watch the video?

Spare us the lame ass misanalysis.

yes I watched it. You made it an issue because Meyer brought it up to take the heat off his lame ass suspension of his favorite step slow thug.

Spare us the lame ass repeats of whiner and homeristic drivel. Nobody here cares.
