This staff is one of the best in the country, and everyone needs to get off of their back. Look at the amount of work they have put in, and all they have done IN LESS THAN A YEAR. I promise you Butch is going to be the man to bring us back.

This staff is doing some things very well and others things less well, but they're not one of the best in the country. Butch may or may not bring us back-- it's MUCH too soon to know. Let's give it a few years before crowning him the savior of Tennessee football-- or running him out of town.

Malzahn had a loaded roster, Auburn has been recruiting top 10 for several years. Many of those were kids he recruited while OC at Auburn. Not a good comparison.

over the past four years auburn has finished 8th,10th,7th,and 4th. We finished 21st,17th,13th and 9th(dooley's first year 2010). The talent disparity is quiet evident.

This is not an sec proven staff, thus it is impossible to be the best staff in the country. Butch may be right for UT in time, I do not see the current coordinators setting up shop here for very long. There will be an opportunity for a an upgrade, money talks, and I hope we are smart enough to jump on it.

What the Hell does this even mean?
It means teach the defensive players how to tackle a ball carrier when the opportunity presents itself. Damn, the posters on this board are getting dumber by the hour.

So since athleticism doesn't matter, do you think you could tackle Adrian Peterson in the open field? I mean you could just use your "technique" right?

I stopped reading when the OP said best staff in the country. I find it hard to believe that the best staff in the country has been at Cincy for the past 3 years.
I think BJ is the man for the job , but he should of surrounded himself around better coaches.

I agree

Fair weather fans?? KMA

I've been watching this crap for 5 years. Folks like me aren't fair weather fans. We are the ones that demand excellence that fans like you take for granted.

We are Tennessee. We don't belong down here with vandy and Kentucky. These games should be automatic wins. Not praying to win games.

Smh.

5 whole years? 38 here and I don't like where we are and been for few years but the revolving coaches haven't helped. It takes time and continuity to right the ship.

40 total 5 years of crap. Please read before responding.

I understand revolving coaches. But for 3 mill a year I would really like to see improvement. And poor play calling doesn't help.

I am so done with this fanbase. I know not everybody is like this or maybe not even half. This staff is one of the best in the country, and everyone needs to get off of their back. Look at the amount of work they have put in, and all they have done IN LESS THAN A YEAR. Am I disappointed in how we have played the last three games? Yes. But look at the teams we have played.. Possibly the three best in the conference. So please do me a favor, and support through the down times. I promise you Butch is going to be the man to bring us back. Just be patient. As always... Go Vols.

The Vols defensive players and special teams players are apparently done with tackling as well.

Malzahn is getting the most out of his roster.

It's obvious that Jones isn't getting the most out of his.

Oh really? Compare us to Missouri please. They have much lower recruiting classes yet field a power house. What has caused that?
