I cant stand Notre Dame

I know its almost Christmas but I have to vent!
I hate Notre Dame and always have.
ESPN and all the media kisses their a$$ like no other program in the country and all because of marketing dollars!
I recently read a quote from rivals....
"This is a big deal for Tennessee. That is a program that needs the right hire, and it needs it right now. I don't know if I can say this is a home run hire, but after the episode with Lane Kiffin and the disaster of Derek Dooley, the best thing that can happen here is for Jones to bring the Cincinnati magic with him and follow on the success of the last coaches to leave that school. It is unlikely he is going to jump in and have the success that Brian Kelly is having in recruiting at Notre Dame, but Tennessee isn't Notre Dame." -- Mike Farrell, Rivals.com
This pisses me off more than I can stand. UT isnt Notre Dame...you are dam! right! In the past twenty years UT has had 9 10+win seasons and a National Championship. In the same time frame Notre Dangit has had 5 10+ win seasons. The media needs to quit suckling the marketing teet and do some fair and unbiased reporting.
Yes we have been bottom barrel for the past two coaching terms but we WILL BE BACK!!!
I am no Bama lover but hope Saban and the boys beat the golden helmets into a stupor so the media cant keep the same BS around.
GO SEC Go Vols!!
And full on Go Coach Jones!!

Getting mad about all that kinda shows an inferiority complex. Everyone knows ND could close their eyes and swing around wildly with a bag of scholarships and land a top 10 class every year regardless of success on the field. Tennessee can't do that. He's not stating anything offensive or anything we don't already know. Don't get all angsty about it.

Everyone that's asked me about the National Championship has gotten the same response from me, "I want Notre Dame to lose." "Why?" they ask me. I respond, "because F*** NOTRE DAME, THAT'S WHY!!!"

Thats exactly my point!!!
Because of the media hype that they get they can pull a top 10 class. They get an unfair bias and thereby an unfair recruiting advantage!
Instead of reporting about football rave reviews and constant attention creates better football programs!
If they out performed us then I wouldnt complain...they just have not!
I appreciate your input but still hate em!

But that's what you're missing. You have it backwards. It's not the media hype that gets them all of the attention; it's their tradition. Their tradition is what gives them the recruiting edge and the media attention, not the other way around.

As much as I hate AL and wish they would lose, I hate ND even worse.
I wish there was a way for both teams to lose... :crazy:

I ain't no undercover bammer fan either but I agree I would love for bammer to beat the stew outta noter dame!...only for one reason only....so the sec could remain dominate!!

BS! They have the largest marketing draw and therefore get the most attention so the media can sell more commercials. In my original post I gave you the numbers since 1990 so although their tradition was rich long ago (before current recruits were born) they have not even lived up to our winning tradition since.
They dont deserve the hype!

Cant agree with ya....still hate em!

I agree I cannot stand, ND or Rudy or anything ND. When they went their own way with NBC and told the CFA and all of the other teams to suck it that did it for me.
They want to play by their own rules but still be part of the BCS without being in a conference.
I can't stand Bama, but I hope they beat them by forty points.

Two problems with your thought process.

#1 You only gave the numbers for the last twenty years. That's not "tradition." That is "what have you done for me lately." Tradition is the all time history of the program. So if look at Notre Dame's true tradition, then it's one of the best.

#2 Even if they haven't been great recently, it doesn't stop the impact of their tradition. Look at Tennessee for example, we haven't been great recently, but we still pack Neyland stadium every Saturday. Same goes for Notre Dame. Just because they don't have a 10 win season every year, doesn't mean that they won't still draw great recruiting, etc.

I hate them both and wish they could both lose. But, since we're picking sides, screw the tater diggers. Go Irish.

I hate ND but I hate Bama more. We don't have Irish trolls on here constantly talking smack. I will be rooting against gators and tide..oh and vandy. Hope the SEC goes 6-3 this bowl season.

No problems with my thought process.. I know what tradition is and I respect theirs. The "lately" is all the kids care about today (not that I agree with that).
but here are the facts:

Winningest Teams in NCAA:
1. Michigan: 888-306-38
2. Texas: 853-326-34
3. Notre Dame: 845-296-42
4. Nebraska: 836-345-41
5. Ohio State: 825-315-53
6. Alabama: 825-317-43
7. Penn State 821-355-43
8. Oklahoma: 806-308-53
9. Tennessee: 788-340-55
Yes they are ahead of us....but to put us in the light we have been placed in is just not fair. Top ten isnt second rate by any stretch.
They have not been relevant in a long while! This is all band wagon hype.
We both have great tradition.
They are able to be out of a conference because of the media preference they enjoy. They attain rankings by AP faster. They are nearly guaranteed a better bowl than evenly matched teams because of their name.
I love tradition.
But the media sucks bottom line....ND gets an unfair advantage and reap rewards because of it.
No more posts from me on this one....I am a scientist. I have done my homework and still hate them!
