In the late 80s, they were everwhere! The past 25 years of failures has done a good job of purging many of those cats. But they are now coming back out of the woodwork.


That could be VolNation if Butch doesn't get this ship off the rocks

Yes they are ahead of us....but to put us in the light we have been placed in is just not fair. Top ten isnt second rate by any stretch.
They have not been relevant in a long while! This is all band wagon hype.
We both have great tradition.
They are able to be out of a conference because of the media preference they enjoy. They attain rankings by AP faster. They are nearly guaranteed a better bowl than evenly matched teams because of their name.
I love tradition.
But the media sucks bottom line....ND gets an unfair advantage and reap rewards because of it.

When Alabama plays Florida, it is an easy choice! Go Crimson Tidy Bowl boys. When Alabama plays Notre Dame, it is less clearcut. However, given the facts that Alabama is playing for its third national title in four years and Notre Dame has not won a national championship since 1988, if memory serves me correctly, I suppose that I will hold my nose and quietly support the Irish.

No reason for them to be here. Why would they?
On ESPN conversation boards, they are classless garbage and anything but godly.

Reasons I can't stand the domers:
1. I have to look at them every week on NBC (even when they were like 1-9. One of their posters told me once that the reason they get preferential treatment is because they are Americas team and that they deserve it. Hate that.
2. Won't join a decent league (or any league). Same guy told me that they want all the revenue for themselves instead of sharing with a league. Hate that.
3. Lou Holtz slobbering, spitting and stuttering about how good they are every single time he is on. Hate that.
4. Their constant coddling gives them an unfair recruiting edge. Hate that.

You can blame Hollywood and "Rudy" for some of the hype Notre Dame gets too. Maybe we need to make our own film. Perhaps call it "Grudy"

I hate Notre Dame with a passion. Having said that, they are only my SECOND most hated team.... Go Domers beat the trashy bammers.

also their owning some of the biggest media markets in the country, as well as using their status as an independent to try and regularly appear (through schedule) in others (media markets)

Just because of all the Special Notre Dame rules written into the bcs I will be clapping for Allabubba. It pains me to say that but that is the reality. I live in Texas now and have to put up with the Hook Em's, Sooners and now Irish fans. I hate all 3!!!!

I hate ND and I hate Alabama but for me this is a conference thing and that means Money

For a program that is broke...we need money (However painful)
