I Come in Peace

If you have (4) D line starters who are all NFL bound and yet you are concerned about not getting any pressure rushing those 4, then you will fit in nicely on VN as we are full of posters who think our entire roster are all leaving early to the draft!
This is based on current draft projections, so objective here and don't have the homer glasses on. However, JTT has been overhyped all of college in my opinion.

In the spirit of sportsmanship I was trying to show that we can have good discussion about the game.

I didn’t tell him to make sure he and his other fellow Ohioans to call first before they cross over the Horry County line to The Myrtle Beach/Grandstrand Area in the Summer of 2025. Don’t show up unannounced.
Hey man - I'm a Wrightsville Beach, NC guy. Myrtle is for 'those Ohioans...'

Vol Nation Community,

I come in peace and will introduce myself as someone who really enjoys getting to know another fan base, especially those in the SEC, prior to a bowl style game.

Been snooping around reading about the Vols on this site the last 24 hours and figured I’d make an account.

I grew up in Ohio but now live in NC (cue the go back to Ohio sayings). However, my mom’s whole side of the family is from the south. Her family moved up to Ohio for my grandpas job and she ended up meeting my dad at OSU. I’ve been a rabid fan of the Buckeyes since birth and graduated from OSU. Made a life decision and picked heading south for greener pastures for work post grad.

Have met quite a few TN fans & actually attended the NC St vs Tenn game in Charlotte this year.

I’m TBD on going to the game as it’s close to Christmas and have some other impt items to tend to. Last game I went to was the UGA Peach Bowl game. Might never recover from that loss but sitting field level behind the bench that had CJ Stroud and Marvin Harrison Jr was really cool.

If y’all have any questions on Columbus or OSU in general, I’ll do my best to help out. Looking fwd to friendly banter. Really cool that two historic programs can meet in this atmosphere. FYI - my dad was at the citrus bowl between Peyton and Eddie. Claims his feet are still damp to this day.
Where are the best places to go before the game? Obviously we'll want to be able to see Texas-Clemson before heading to our game.

Where would be a great restaurant-bar combo to watch Indiana-ND Friday night?

I can handle the heat. Let’s say Ohio State is down 21-3 at halftime & then I may delete this site from my history and never return again ha.
I thought this was shade at all the Ohio people that think we have never had to use thermals or parkas here in Tennessee. So in this role reversal bring your swimsuit we are headed to the lake because it's clearly above 80 here all the time. Haha

OSU has a talented roster full of blue chippers More so than our roster. However we have critical positions advantages that coach Heupel will take advantage of, QB RB ,DL edge rushers and special teams. A very good backfield also its a game I think we win. But a good game either way

I met my future wife in '81. Got married the same day Chernobyl blew up (4/26/86). Still going strong.
What took so long? lol. We got married 5 months after we met, but we were 28 and 27 and no we didn’t HAVE to get married. Out of school and had started our careers and been around the block.
BTW, Happy anniversary in advance.

If Nico has time like in the vandy game it's dominant win for Tennessee, if he's being chased it could be a long day.

Welcome to Volnation!! The game should be in Knoxville.
Falling only four places after that loss to Michigan is the epitome of favoritism

Or Penn State should be in Knoxville and Ohio State be where Penn State is. Penn State loss to Ohio State and has 0 top 25 wins. Stop rewarding teams that had gaudy records but played no one. Tennessee can apparently go to Sun Belt, go 12-0, and get a 3 seed in Playoff like Boise State.

I don't know what to expect from the game. I have not watched Tennessee play and ever since we lost our top linemen, our offense has been out of synch. Both defenses are top-tier. My gut feel is that this game will likely come down to things like offensive miscues, game plans, and coaching.

For me, this game has the same vibes as the '86 Sugar Bowl, Vols vs. Miami. We were totally disrespected as an opponent and all Miami had to do was punch us in the mouth with their far superior talent, go through the motions, and they would be National Champions. They had the hats and T-shirts ready to go. But, a funny thing happened that night and we stomped them into oblivion 35-7. Not saying this will necessarily happen in Columbus. That was then, and this is now. But, this program has a proud history and we don't like being disrespected because of a few recent years of being down. We're back and we're here to stay awhile. It will be an epic battle, either way. Looking forward to it!

I too come in peace; new to the board. I am more than excited to see the Vols come to The Horsehoe! Two iconic programs in an epic clash! With that said, I am more than nervous about this game. With our o-line being depleted and Tennessee’s defensive line being elite, that coupled with depending on which play calling we come up with, could be a long day for the Buckeyes! If we show up like we did against Georgia 2 years ago, we could make a run. Regardless, I feel this will be a close and hard fought game. Best of luck, and here is to a great game!

I haven't seen any disrespect to our team from Ohio State in the way that Mister Jimmy Johnson and Miami talked about us. I would love for the outcome to be that way, but the talk from Miami was ridiculous. All they had to do was beat us and they would have been National Champs that year. They failed!

It may get hot around here....

My FIL is a big Ohio State fan and three of my husband's siblings, one niece, and one nephew are Buckeyes. They all live in Columbus. Welcome to VolNation.

I can't remember the names of the TV broadcast crew that night, but one commentator in particular kept referring to us as the "Voles." He could pronounce Heisman winner Vinny Testaverde's name just fine, but struggled with anything pertaining to us. We didn't deserve to be on the same field as the mighty Hurricanes that night, according to many. We emphatically proved them wrong.

lol... "I come in peace." But comes in flexing what a big man he is sitting behind the bench in the playoffs... Immediately putting himself "above" us.

" I’ve been a rabid fan of the Buckeyes since birth and graduated from OSU. "

Nobody is perfect. 😎

My prediction is Vols will open a can of 1733954168055.png

That still happens occasionally, even from ESPN/SEC Network crews. I've noticed it several times during games this season. I've never been able to understand where these folks get that pronunciation from the word Vols or how they can possibly think that is how the abbreviated version of the word Volunteers should be pronounced. Here, I thought us southerners were supposed to be the dumb ones.
