127. Rice (1-8) - 46.6442
128. Florida Atlantic (2-7) - 45.8006

Florida Atlantic stays behind Rice despite having a better record AND despite having just defeated Rice (in the Owl Bowl) because Florida Atlantic's SOS is a putrid 38.3284 compared to Rice's 53.4309.

Very interesting. i'll be interested to see if Ohio State jumps Washington. Washington won big, but OSU KILLED #10 last week. Your rankings do a pretty good job though, no doubt.

still interesting that we are the highest ranked 3 loss team. not arguing just saying it is interesting.

still interesting that we are the highest ranked 3 loss team. not arguing just saying it is interesting.

UT and FSU are both in the top 20 based solely on their respective strength of schedule. They are both in the Top 5 in the country as far as SOS.

WEEK 11 RANKINGS (with AP/Coaches)

1. Alabama (10-0) - 193.5300 (1/1)
2. Ohio St (9-1) - 184.2430 (2/2)
3. Michigan (9-1) - 177.5137 (4/4)
4. Clemson (9-1) - 172.4971 (5/5)
5. Louisville (9-1) - 169.0100 (3/3)
6. Western Michigan (10-0) - 160.4570 (14/21)
7. Wisconsin (8-2) - 156.8529 (6/6)
8. Penn St (8-2) - 155.9090 (9/10)
9. Washington (9-1) - 153.6130 (7/7)
10. Oklahoma (8-2) - 148.9479 (8/8)
11. Boise St (9-1) - 147.0402 (22/23)
12. West Virginia (8-1) - 146.5875 (10/9)
13. Auburn (7-3) - 146.0354 (18/16)
14. Troy (8-1) - 145.5559 (25/UR)
15. Florida St (7-3) - 143.9550 (17/15)
16. Colorado (8-2) - 143.2540 (12/12)
17. USC (7-3) - 143.0840 (15/19)
18. Washington St (8-2) - 142.3100 (20/20)
19. Tennessee (7-3) - 142.2380 (UR/UR)
20. Houston (8-2) - 141.3977 (UR/UR)
21. LSU (6-3) - 140.3411 (16/14)
22. Western Kentucky (8-3) - 138.3051 (UR/UR)
23. Navy (7-2) - 138.0400 (UR/UR)
24. Nebraska (8-2) - 138.0230 (19/17)
25. South Florida (8-2) - 136.3756 (UR/UR)

Tennessee is starting to slip because their opponents have started losing. Playing Mizzou and Vandy to finish out the year will not help. I don't see them dropping out of the Top 25, but Top 20 will be dicey if some folks ahead of them don't lose.

My system didn't believe in Washington (they were #6 last week) and it turned out to be correct.

Clemson stayed above Louisville which is absolutely correct. They have played a much tougher schedule than the Cardinals and have the head-to-head victory. I'm a firm believer in human polls as a superior method, but they got this one wrong.

The Bottom 10:

119. New Mexico St (2-7) - 60.7201
120. UMass (2-8) - 60.1661

127. Kansas (1-9) - 50.3414
128. Buffalo (2-8) - 43.8376

Complete random commentary:

San Diego St is ranked 24th in the AP and 25th in the Coaches. They are 28th in my system. I'm not sure if any of those rankings are accurate or fair, but I do know that SDSU's schedule is steaming garbage. All 9 of their FBS opponents are below .500. Their opponents's winning % is .3158, and their opponents' average score differential is -9.4903. The fact that they have a loss against that schedule is absolutely ridiculous.

12. Florida St (9-3) - 147.8065 (12/12)
13. USC (9-3) - 144.4047 (10/11)

22. Oklahoma St (9-2) - 138.7064 (11/10)
23. Toledo (9-3) - 137.0396 (UR/UR)
24. Troy (9-2) - 136.2183 (UR/UR)
25. Appalachian St (9-3) - 134.7651 (UR/UR)

With one week to go, and most teams done with their seasons, very little change is going to happen from here on out.

I'm sure the big question is how Michigan is still ahead of Washington, and with such a big lead in the score. Washington's SOS is total garbage. Michigan's SOS is #19 at 58.4503, while UW's is an abysmal #115 at 42.0802.

Bowl Match-ups as of today:

Peach Bowl (CFP) - #1 Alabama vs. #4 Michigan
Fiesta Bowl (CFP) - #2 Ohio St vs. #3 Clemson

Sugar Bowl (SEC vs Big XII) - #18 Auburn vs. #9 Oklahoma
Rose Bowl (Big 10 vs Pac 12) - #7 Wisconsin vs. #5 Washington
Orange Bowl (ACC vs. SEC/Big 10/ND) - #11 Louisville vs. #8 Penn St
Cotton Bowl (At-Large vs. Group of 5) - #10 Colorado vs. #6 Western Michigan

The Rest of the SEC:

26. Florida (8-3) - 134.7007 (15/16)
27. Tennessee (8-4) - 134.3971
38. Texas A&M (8-4) - 129.0712
51. Arkansas (7-5) - 114.4347
52. Georgia (7-5) - 114.3371
53. Kentucky (7-5) - 112.4955
59. Vanderbilt (6-6) - 110.0957
64. Ole Miss (5-7) - 103.8778
72. Mississippi St (5-7) - 98.2405
80. South Carolina (6-6) - 93.5854
86. Missouri (4-8) - 88.6247

The SEC is totally mediocre this year. The East winner doesn't even crack the Top 25 in my ranking. The system loved UT until the Vandy loss.

However, the SEC is still the best conference in the country. Despite having only 3 teams in the Top 25, while the Big 10 has 4 in the top 8, the SEC doesn't have the dead weight at the bottom. It's the only conference where every team is ranked in the Top 90.

Ranking of P5 conferences by average team score:

1. SEC - 121.5490
2. ACC - 116.9970
3. Big 10 - 116.0897
4. Pac 12 - 114.1287
5. Big XII - 109.0912 (the Big XII sucks)

By average SOS:

1. SEC - 57.2307
2. Big 10 - 56.0851
3. Pac 12 - 55.1975
4. ACC - 53.6490
5. Big XII - 51.0212 (the Big XII sucks despite playing trash)

The Bottom 10:

119. UTEP (4-8) - 61.9401
120. Rice (3-9) - 58.8953
121. UConn (3-9) - 57.8945
122. Rutgers (2-10) - 57.8892
123. Kansas (2-10) - 57.5582
124. Florida Atlantic (3-9) - 56.9626
125. UMass (2-10) - 56.3976
126. Buffalo (2-10) - 47.8018
127. Fresno St (1-11) - 46.9684
128. Texas St (2-9) - 44.9136

Texas St has one more game to play, so they could potentially escape the bottom.

FINAL TOP 25 (with AP/Coaches/CFP)

1. Alabama (13-0) - 189.8126 (1/1/1)
2. Ohio St (11-1) - 183.3956 (2/2/3)
3. Clemson (12-1) - 174.6401 (3/3/2)
4. Michigan (10-2) - 169.7101 (6/6/6)
5. Washington (12-1) - 166.7762 (4/4/4)
6. Western Michigan (13-0) - 162.1871 (12/14/15)
7. Penn St (11-2) - 157.5908 (5/5/5)
8. Oklahoma (10-2) - 156.7592 (7/7/7)
9. Wisconsin (10-3) - 150.6082 (8/8/8)
10. Louisville (9-3) - 148.0874 (15/15/13)
11. Florida St (9-3) - 146.9260 (10/10/11)
12. Colorado (10-3) - 146.7308 (11/11/10)
13. Western Kentucky (10-3) - 146.7017 (UR/UR/UR)
14. USC (9-3) - 143.7226 (9/9/9)
15. Boise St (10-2) - 143.0469 (UR/UR/UR)
16. West Virginia (10-2) - 141.8131 (14/12/16)
17. Auburn (8-4) - 141.1595 (17/17/14)
18. South Florida (10-2) - 140.3904 (25/22/UR)
19. Temple (10-3) - 140.2956 (23/24/24)
20. Houston (9-3) - 139.6194 (UR/UR/UR)
21. LSU (7-4) - 137.2930 (19/20/20)
22. Navy (9-3) - 137.0931 (UR/UR/25)
23. Toledo (9-3) - 136.8836 (UR/UR/UR)
24. Appalachian St (9-3) - 136.8836 (UR/UR/UR)
25. Stanford (9-3) - 133.9798 (16/16/18)

This will be the last Top 25 for the year. The Army-Navy game will have so little impact on the standings that I'm not going to bother next week.

Look upon this list and weep for the failure of the SEC.
