But I'm enjoying watching Georgia and SC lose

Good for you. I'm not watching (I've found it hard to care about anything college football related since our season ended so miserably), but it's nice to see people on here who actually hate our rivals. Not these "SEC fans" who say they are UT fans but find it so easy to forget about their team and pull for any of their rivals who happen to be good and playing in big games.

Not a true fan if you don't support all our conference mates. Go root for BYU if you can't handle conference pride

I don't like them to win either in regular season. Bowl season is different,, I hate all the 'press' when a team from another conference beats an SEC team...

I feel the same way, haven't been able to care about any of the bowls this year because of how our year ended. I used to feel like there was some pride rooting for our conference but now I just don't care. It sure hasn't helped us in anyway that the SEC has won all these BCS championship games, in fact maybe it has hurt us.

Fans from just about every conference pull for their conference in bowl games it's not just an SEC thing. My boss is an O$U fan and said he's pulling for MSU in the Rose Bowl because they're representing the B1G. I think it's a regional pride thing as much as anything. I want the South in general to be the leader in everything; business, education, athletics, politics etc.

I really don't hear much about "conference pride" except in the SEC.

Yep, it's really the new form of bandwagon fandom, in my opinion. "Well my team sucks, so I'll just cheer for our rivals. No, no, it doesn't make me a bandwagon fan, it means I just really care about our conference." Whatever.

If UTs not playing I really don't care what the other teams do, with a few exceptions. I want Bama to destroy Oklahoma, I want Ohio St to be destroyed by Clemson, I was happy to see Michigan lose and was glad to see ND win.

I was born, raised, and still live in South Bend, In so ND is my hometown team and I will almost always hope they win, as long as they aren't playing us. Around here Michigan fans are just cocky, arrogant, and completely ignore facts and reality to boost their team. Ohio St fans are worse than Mich fans because they won 24 straight games against NOBODY.

I also think the BCS wanted to make sure Ohio St looked good, so instead of going for a game that could've rivaled the championship game in viewers by matching them up against Bama. They gave them an easier matchup against an exposed Clemson team that they will probably beat and go into next season, again, over ranked because of it. Thats also why I want Bama to destroy Okl. I want that game to be over as fast as possible so people stop watching and the morons that refused to put the 2 won-loss teams of Bama and Ohio st against each other get even more crap for their inability put together good games.

Get out more then. My company is based in the Midwest and everyone in the corporate office is B1G affiliated and B1G prideful. I cover 4 states in the South and the SEC pride thing is prevalent amongst all my distributors and most want to see us get back to our rightful spot in the SEC as much as we do. Are they stupid for rooting for us to return to prominence, like I root for other SEC teams in bowl season, when it could theoretically hurt them?

Outside of the Midwest and the South, most regions don't care about college football as much, hence they're lack of pride. Oregon fans saying UT had more visiting fans than any conference opponent they've ever seen tells you all you need to know about how they view college football on the west coast.

I remember when UT was very good in the 90's and everyone hated UT and hoped they lost every game. Why? Because they won and as long as they were winning it was hard for their team to beat them. I don't ever remember Bama fans or Fla fans pulling for UT during the bowls. I don't dislike the other SEC teams every day except for when they play in bowls. I hate them year round. I hope they all lose especially Bama and Candy's pathetic fan base that has just discovered there is a sport called football. Screw 'em all.

With that said, UT beat a pretty good USCjr team. They finished 11-2.
