Look who's arguing that the masses aren't stupid.

Speaking if stupid, you're arguing broad acceptance to bolster your opinion. Congratulations on the novel approach to idiocy.

Well I'll hope for 1 win bowl seasons for the SEC and OOC regular season losses from here on out and then if we're (UT) ever left out of the NC picture due to a diluted resume we can all "pride" ourselves on hoping our rivals lose too.

The bigger question begs, WTF do you care who others pull for so much?

In 5 years on this board, I've yet to see you provide a response that contains anything resembling substance. It appears as though you use futile insults to mask the inability to support your own persuasion.

Did I do that right?

Its a sarcastic response

Beecher would rather pull out his fingernails with plyers than to route for another SEC team

I'm getting in my first New Years troll.

Screw the rest of the conference, from those stomping us by 30 to the two we actually beat.

Thanks for the enlightenment. I am starting to feel the same way actually. I am big time pulling for FSU and UCF so they will start taking some of the recruiting from FU... The hard one is pulling for TA&M because they will keep that talent in Texas and away from Bama, LSU and the Barn. I just can't though until the little punk is gone.....

Shaw lit the Wisconsin defense up. Now that was an impressive QB performance against a legit team. I think it just makes our win against SC even more impressive.

We made better plays, but were lucky that they didn't show up and play to their full potential, otherwise they would have won easily.

Yeah they just picked our game to not show up. Boy to call yourself a. Vol fan you go to great lengths to discredit our win. They had all of their starters and we beat them straight up. So again no luck involved. We were better than them that day and that's all that counts.

I've laid it out a number of times in threads on this tired subject. People overrstimate the impact of other SEC teams OOC results.

Ideally, we have a coach who is worth a **** and we win in a dominant conference. Being a part of a good conference has tremendous benefits. My hope is that we have a coach who can put us on top.

I'm not trying to discredit anything, but given the way the rest of the season played out, it's clear that game was an aberration. To say it wasn't lucky that their worst game of the year and our best happened to occur on the same day is silly. I'm glad that's how it happened though.

Call it what you like. We took advantage of them having an off day.

And if you watched So Car all year you would've seen that they had a habit of letting teams hang around. They were a good, but not great team. Whether they were disinterested or not, UT came off a crushing loss to UGA to upset a pretty good team. And we did it with Worley banging his thumb on a player's helmet early in the game and not at 100%. I'll take that over getting close and losing every damn time like we did with Dooley.

I don't see anyone trying to give it back.

Just making the point that we didn't beat USC with them giving the same performance as they did today. Had they we would have lost by 14+.

I thought our best football was the second half against UGA.

Not a true fan if you don't support all our conference mates. Go root for BYU if you can't handle conference pride

Not everybody lives vicariously through their conference rivals. There's some SEC teams I won't pull for no matter what & don't lose sleep worrying about the others. It's hard to fathom the SEC pride thing when you're at the bottom of it. Maybe my tune will change when Tennessee returns to prominence so until then I don't care if they all lose.

Maybe so, maybe not. I remember Clowney and that defense having their way most of the day. They let a lot of teams hang around when they should've beaten them worse during the year. UT beat them with a banged up QB. Worley caught a lot of crap (and some deservedly so), but he was our best chance to win games. See the UGA and So Car games for proof. After he went out, we weren't even that competitive against good teams anymore.

6 or half dozen really.

We either beat a really good team on an off day or we beat a team that couldn't put anyone away and gave us a shot to win. Matters little really.

Worley had a good half against UGA and a few plays against USC. Had North not brought down the 2 prayers Worley sent up the season and Worley would be viewed different IMO.

You take that win and move on but theres nothing wrong with understanding how it shook out either.

Worley was not great that day. I didn't know he had injured his thumb until I got home from the game. He usually is high on his throws and was under throwing a lot of balls because he couldn't get anything on them. Still, he was our best shot at beating someone last year. If he plays against Vandy, I like our chances a whole lot better in that game. The coaches shut Dobbs down after two early picks. Who knows how that game shakes out with Worley at QB.

Every year good teams have close wins and close losses that make you scratch your head. So Car was a better team than UT, but they weren't a dominant team like a Bama where it isn't out of the ordinary for them to lose.

Did I even imply that I give a rat's ass who anyone here roots for? You're the clown offering vicarious support to make your worldview somehow better for us. I haven't stated one way or another. Laughing at your reasoning is noncommittal.

"Futile" insults? Nice usage. Mask your effort better.

I suspect I've said far more substantial than you're capable of saying - so read more and post less.

I could care less if an SEC team wins. Regarding the SC game, a sucky team seldom beats a much better team when they are at their best. Obviously, SC could've played better. Who cares. That's part of it.

And trying convince others that one opinion is superior makes no sense whatsoever. People pull for who they choose.
