This was originally written by a guy named (I believe) John Kenneth Taylor and posted on the USENET group rec.sport.football.college at least ten years ago. He used to add a paragraph or two to it and repost it every year. I haven't read r.s.f.c. regularly in a long time, but I know that it was so widely admired by regular posters there that somebody (not a UT fan) used to drag it out every year and repost it during Alabama week once the original guy disappeared. It's a timeless classic.

Growing up with my best friends cousin a die hard Alabama fan. My best friend and I endured many years of heart ache after the end of the UT-Alabama game. The one that hurt the most was David Palmer as quarterback going for 2 to tie the game. Everyone knew he was going outside.
Anyway, I STRONGLY dislike Florida, but I H A T E Alabama.

I just posted this as a myspace bulletin.....awesome read.....I was gonna go to bed but now I'm filled with anger. Damn I HATE those SOB's!!!! I hope we score 87 touchdowns Saturday and Smokey bites half their team. Here's the preview to my bulletin....

"I want Gator fans to read this so they may get an idea of what a rivalry is. I believe the series is now 44-38-7 (that's 7 ties for you Florida fans). For Bama fans it means, yes, they've been playing longer than your grandaddy Wilbur Bubba Billy Jean has been alive. i dis-like the gators and hate bama. my dad is from TN and he raised me well in knowing that our biggest rival is bama and to hate them! i hate the colors, the team, the stupid elephant, and the stupid "roll tide" crap. Oh and the kicker my dads brother is a bama fan boo!!! GO VOLS, beat the stupid elephant!

We won that game as Bama had to forfeit most of that season.:eek:lol:
