I have a feeling Tennessee will be a different team this Saturday

Biggest difference is that it is at home. I thought the Oklahoma game was us finally showing we could win big games on the road, and then….
There we go again 🙄
Some teams have to learn how to handle winning. As an OU fan of more than 50 years, I have too many times watched a team win a big game, only to come back and lose to a Kansas or someone. Quite frustrating.

That was the tough thing for Oklahoma. Most games you entered into, you were supposed to win. Big12 (especially after the attrition in 2010) was really fully of mediocre programs. Sure, these teams would have a great team every 4-5 years but it just seem like you guys (and Texas) had targets on your back week in and week out with little to gain by playing those games.

OU handled it a lot better than Texas.

We may be a different team if injured players are not available. Read where Bru, Squirrel and Eason were injured Sat but have not seen any updated report on them yet. That would be 3 big players we need. Hope they are good. Of course Hype will not be giving any kind of meaningful info on them anyway.

This is another weakness of Heupel (and a lot of coaches). I think some of our back WRs are better options than an injured Bru or Squirrel. We haven't had very good production from Bru and I think it is because he isn't healthy. With Nico and Bru being roommates and so close, I thought he would be the prime target but I think Nico has had better connections with Nimrod, Thornton, and Brazzall to date.

Bru McCoy doesn't strike me as a loafer and is a good WR but he has mostly been invisible to date. Not having him on the field may not be that bad of a thing. (I think he isn't 100% right now).

I am thinking we are overreacting a little to the loss. Now, I don't think we are a top 5 team or a National Title Contender but I also think we are better than an 8-4/7-5 team people are claiming we are on this forum. We will see.

If I was not a Tennessee fan (putting glasses off), I am liking Tennessee to bounce back big against Florida. The next game that should definitely worry us is Kentucky. Kentucky (where the game is located) is a little scary.
We play KY at home.

Still no excuse for pathetic performance against Arkansas and 2022 South Carolina.
Not trying to split hairs on Ls but South Carolina in 2022 was much more pathetic than ark… I wouldn’t call ark pathetic as we still had a shot to win it very disappointing but their Qb also played the game of his life putting the ball in a perfect bucket multiple times did not look like a 55% completion percentage guy at all… but we still fought hard vs sc we just laid down…

UF has better athletes on both sides of the ball than Arkansas. Our OL is bad. Sorry but I see another embarrassing loss to UF. Hopefully the team proves me wrong and I can coke in here and say how dumb my prediction was.

Arkansas would beat UF 8/10 times most likely. Slow down. It was a bad loss but the season ain’t over. Let’s see how dudes respond.

South Carolina was the worse loss under Heupel. The defense literally played like it didn't exist. We would have better off not having any defenders and just onside kicking every time South Carolina scored, it was that bad. I have never seen a defense play that poorly in CFB history (although Alabama on Saturday came close).

We are in serious trouble if the same team shows up against Fl. Everyone including coaches needs to be dialed in because UF always plays their best against us.

Tennessee needs to be a different team for the rest of the season. Some hunger, fire, and rage need to show.

Winning on the road is tough, and folks never seem to realize that this stuff is wildly unpredictable. We really have no idea what will happen next. Now, having said that, it is a fact that the offensive line has got to perform better and the qb has got to quit being so tentative. Florida is obviously a must win.

The way some of you crybabies are whining, you would think Arkansas hung fifty on us. We played like crap and Arkansas played lights out and we lost by one score. Some of y'all sound like the Gumps crying to Paul Finebaum today 🙄

Here is the potential problem: does anyone feel “good” about UT winning a dogfight / close game against UF considering the history of the series?

This offense has significant issues against any SEC team with SEC level talent . . . Because our oline is not very good . . . And our QB is inexperienced.

Oklahoma game? OK we had injuries on the oline and played it out conservatively.

Arkansas game showed . . . We got problems on offense.

Bingo. The Gators are the Vols kryptonite. With a few exceptions over the past 30 years, the Vols can’t beat them even when we had the better team.

We have had 2 seasons were we lost to them with arguable a better team: 2002 and 2023. Every year we lost to them, Florida had a better overall record and finished higher. Go check out my post about it.

2014, 2015 and 2017 say hello. We lost two of those games on Hail Marys. On paa as paper we had as much talent in 2005. Are you also ignoring the 90s? We lost many times when we at least had equal talent then. I’ll give you from 2006-2013. They were better during this time.

Disagree. We got off to a poor start against SC but never stopped fighting and aggressively tried to get back in the game. In the Ark game, we gave up on offense and made no effort to stay aggressive with the ultra conservative play calling.
