An excellent question. A related one would be: if God "gives" kids like Tebow a special ability to play football, at least in any way in which the personal word "give" means anything, then does he also "give" other kids Down's syndrome, handicaps, and cancer?
and if this God given athletic ability so ingratiates man to God, why wouldn't he spread it around randomly, as opposed to passing it along genetically. That means the same families get to keep having the great athletes. I'm truly perplexed.

I bet Tebow never worked hard in his life - never picked up a weight.

To my knowledge, Tebow's brothers and sisters never played sports. Also, I don't recall his dad playing sports either. So, if none of his family plays sports, does that qualify as random?
