I Never Bet on Sports but.......

Phil Steele is the first "expert" I've seen that says take UT. He thinks it'll be a very close game until the end with UT winning by a touchdown.

You can roughly figure 11/10 odds. So you're pretty much on the money with you wagers.

Has anyone had any trouble collecting large payouts from Bovada? 5k or more ? I want to make sure I'm going to get paid.

Slightly off topic but Texas A&M is getting 10 1/2 Thursday night at South Carolina...That looks enticing to me. Would anyone else jump on A&M?

Sorry to gloat (but I enjoy it :) )...I posted this Tuesday night and did put a $100 on Sportsbook.com...I wish I had done more. That was an absurd spread.

The line at Bovada is -5 right now. It just seems too good to be true and it scares the hell out of me. I've never used Bovada before, does anyone know if you can bet on the money line too or if you can buy points to add to the spread? Anyone ever have a bad experience using their site? Thanks in advance for the help!

You might be able to bet the line. I don't use Bovada. The ML isn't available on my book, but I bet by Sunday it will be on there.

You CAN buy points to add to the spread. For instance, the line is at -4.5 at -110 odds (if you put down 100, you'll win 90) and you can buy it down to -4 at -120 odds, or -3.5 at -130 and so on.

I've never had a bad exp with Bovada, but I haven't used them in YEARS.

My only suggestion to all of you betting youngbloods is STAY THE HELL AWAY FORM THE ONLINE CASINOS ON THESE SPORTSBOOKS. DONT DO IT DONT DO IT DONT DO IT DONT DO IT DONT DO IT.

It's 4 1/2 now. Time to put the 401(k) on the line. Bet it all. I promise you will never forget it either way it goes.

With us being only a 6.5 favorite, this may be one of few times I want to put some money down. Anybody care to point me in the direction of a good online betting location?

I've had an account at Bovada for nearly ten years. No issues. Easy interface, make deposits with your credit card and away you go. I've had to 'cash out' my winnings several times over the years and never experienced a problem. I've received payout checks via FedEx within 3 days of submitting a request.

That said, I'm not betting on the UT game; rarely bet on the Vols because I'm letting my heart rule my head---never a good idea when money is involved.:good!:

To me this spread is a money maker. I've not bet on Tennessee very often but this seems like a gift.

I put a good dollar sum on Tennessee to cover and I don't feel much trepidation over it.
(Full disclosure, I also was confident that the Giants would beat the Ravens badly however many years ago in that super bowl debacle that occurred and that didn't work out so well)

I decided that I won't be dumping ice on my face so the rule I'll be going by is if I collect the winnings I will donate half of the sum to ALS and if I lose the bet I will donate an additional 10% of the initial bet to ALS.

A way to feel good regardless of result.

Damn, I should have bet the under too.
