Hart is probably having discussions with several coaches. More than likely these coaches are employed. Assuming a negotiation is successful, there is absolutely no reason for Hart or the new coach to make any announcement until the new coach's season is compete. Hopefully we're hiring someone who has coached their team to a bowl game!

There's always the Romney plan (i.e. Sensata):

1. Remove US flag from stadium; remove National Anthem from Pregame.
2. Have coaches train their Chinese replacements while the season is still ongoing.
3. Move football operations elsewhere with cheaper coaching staffs and less player demand for safe playing and training conditions.
4. Profit.

But in all seriousness, I hope a qualified, outstanding candidate is interested in the job and that we find the money to make a move. I bought in on the Dooley hype, and now I've got nothing but three years of regret to show for it.

Hart said himself that it was way worse than what he thought originally. Wouldn't surprise me if the situation was so bad at UT that getting a "winning coach" wasnt the most important thing for Hammy.

Like what he has done on the field or not but CDD has given his all for UT. Disrespecting him by degrading him as if you have or will ever be in his shoes is ridic. I hope he is here next yr and starts to succeed on the field. I do understand he will have to make a bowl to have a shot at staying, so i will be rooting on my beloved Vols as always. I'm not one of these "so called fans" that is going to wish for or see joy in seeing UT lose so he is gone.

I'm sorry but Numbers don't lie. Dooley is 4-18 in SEC games with his only wins being Vandy , Ole Miss and KY. He actually took over a team that had just been to a bowl game and has digressed. If he isn't winning with this team, he's not going to win , ever. He has to go or our program will continue to be the whipping post of the SEC.

No one is saying he hasnt digressed. Some just have a different perspective of why. Many coaches do well in there first yr and digress. It's natural. Some more than others. Look at hoke at mich or even kiffy at USC. Unfortunatly there were many factors that cause digression to be worse than others. 1 factor is a complete class that is missing and pretty much non existence. Which class you ask?? Yeah the class that would be the current sr class. Its not hard to understand how that would effect success.

You say he took a time that went to a bowl game the yr before. With a SR QB. Tell me the name of the QB on the roster when cdd took over that had been on kiffys roster the season prior??? Did that experienced QB help out in cdd's first yr or maybe help mentor a young QB???

Some if see things differently. I don't focus solely on wins and losses. You have your opinion I have mine. Some agree with you and some agree with me. Is what it is.

That idea is offensive to any thought of Tennessee having success in football next year. You can't be a Tennessee fan and think that.

The 2 year probation should have no bearing on Dooley's future. Dooley is the worst coach in Tennessee football history. We could draw straws on all qualified coaches and 10 out of 10 we come out better than with what we have now.

I really hope UT gets this coaching hire right, because if we keep this up then we will be at the bottom of the SEC for the while.

Exactly, Ole Miss and Vandy's coaches are getting thoe most out of their players. We are getting the least. Its appalling and unforgivable.
