I have been with the wait and see approach with Martin because there were tough things to overcome in the first two years. The problem is that he played zone at the wrong time against the wrong team. He should have played zone against Xavier in game one because they had no one shooting from the outside and the posts were killing us. I think they got a player or two back now so I don't know if that changes anything. But as a coach, you have to put your players in position to win and actually use strategy to your advantage. It's not that difficult.

I have come to the conclusion that he is a dead man walking. He will be fired at the end of this season or the end of next season. I am casually looking at the results of the games, but I am not actively looking for the games on t.v. to watch.

(1) Last season, we lost to Austin Peay.

(2) Last season, we lost to College of Charleston.

(3) Last season, we lost to M.T.S.U. in the first round of the tourney.

(4) This season we lost to U.T.E.P.


I have to hand it to Martin though. He can recruit. He keeps the players out of trouble and they are all passing their classes but he can't get any motivation out of them. It looks as if he sleep walks on the sidelines. Little to no emotions from him, regardless the game situation.

We lost to Austin Peay his first year here with a depleted roster, bad loss we get it. NOT LAST YEAR

We haven't played College of Charleston since we had Bruce Pearl, who consequently lost to CoC at HOME. 3 YEARS AGO

We lost to MTSU Martin's 1st year here in the NIT 2nd round. Once again, not last year.

UTEP is picked to finish 2nd in their conference. They had a night where they got hot, we had hands in their shooters' faces and they still hit the shot. Just a good game for them and a bad one for us. Bad losses happen, Notre Dame lost to Indiana State at home; Michigan lost to Iowa state AND Charlotte (lol). North Carolina losing to Belmont at home. There have been several bad losses already. Noob.

All correct except we did lose at C of C in Martin's first year. But not last year. He had a tough start with a roster with little experience.

Tomorrow is another chance to get a decent win. If we somehow could go 3-0 against the ACC, then it will be nice in March.

The loss to C of C happened before Reese got to UT. He probably didn't even know we lost to C of C Martins 1st year

Knew they would be. Did you see some of them today? They were still stuck on last nights loss even though Martin changed his gameplan and made adjustments and won by 15+...I feel like they want him to lose so they can just come on here and bash him smh.

Lol the stuff they come up with to bash Martin is funny. They Compare him to a coach who won 5 games (Wade Houston), and I mean how many times do we have to correct people about losing to MTSU in 2nd round, and also that classic post saying refs were afraid of Bruce. They don't do anything but look like idiot talking out of their ass. There is not a Martin basher I've seen who gives an actual good argument.

Sooo funny to see all these "live in the moment" fans. A lot of the same ones that were calling for his head Thanksgiving night were fussing about the ones calling for his head when we were blowing out Xavier.

A beatdown over a mediocre Xavier team doesn't change my perspective of Martin. I have no confidence in him until I see some consistency.
