I think I've found a reason to support Romney/Ryan in November

Young men need jobs so they can pay child support

And I believe some of that blame can also be shifted on the shoulders of young men. This has been a cycle going on long before the economy tanked. They need actual father figures to come into their lives and teach them how to live. They are trying to divert from the single parent vs two parent (married or unmarried doesn't matter) situation, and I am telling you boys need a man to teach them how to live plain and simple.

You know this. I know this. Anyone with common sense knows this. But the baby factories still produce more babies each day with men that didn't want to be fathers or men that simply are not capable of being father material (maturity, lack of character, being raised by a single mother themselves, etc.). The author of that NYT piece doesn't seem to understand that men need to be raised by fathers. And honestly, girls need fathers in their lives. Because its obvious that single mothers are not doing a good job of raising the daughters, either.

Ok. So that means one failed, that does mean the idea is incorrect. I can't imagine a good argument for not being closely involved with a good community or church. It really makes no sense to me.

Bud, we may not agree on CDD, but I am fully with you on this one.

Just like me is just fine!.....sound familiar?

that last sentence of the piece was idiotic.

And thus why this problem is going to be in a never ending cycle of depression. We have spent too long trying to swim against the current and say it's not because of the water flowing in the opposite direction, but because there is not enough grass growing in the river...

Looks like a lot of Coal Miners in Ohio have found a reason. Really impressive

I get the point, but you're still essentially benefitting the incumbent.

not my fault. Tell the GOP to offer up a more palatable candidate

GJ's resume beats anyone running IMO. Seems people claim to want things until they are actually presented the option and then they get scared

i'm not arguing that you're wrong or anyone's at fault. Just stating the reality of the situation. The financial structure of the system simply makes it so and the unwinding of that system is the only thing that will make a third party vote anything but an incumbent vote.

and how does one unwind the system without giving support to the 3rd party? You don't get a seat at the table without support and money. Eventually someone has to take a chance, even if it means the incumbent gets 4 more years

the system sucks and is rigged by the parties. But even with their games there is still a chance the people could make it happen. Maybe it won't be this election but it will be soon. Maybe 4 more years of Obama will be the best thing to happen to the possibility of a 3rd party emerging

I don't understand how taking the chance by helping vote the incumbent back in helps? It simply reinforces that the incumbent is the likely winner so donating for his favor is the route to take.

Donating in a large way to independents is the way to make the difference.

but what does donating do when a seat at the table is dependent on votes/polling results (and from polls that rarely even include a candidate on all ballots)?

donating is viability. Voting is forgetfully symbolic in the numbers we're talking about, except that it can turn an election for the incumbent.

Obama wants nothing more in the world than for Johnson to get every vote humanly possible.
