I'm calling it calculated strategy.... We all knew if we didn't lose by more than two scores we wouldn't drop out of the top 5 if we win out convincingly... We avoid a possible upset and no shot at a Natty if we took a loss to a Two loss LSU team that late in the season.... There would have been no way we get in the cfp but now it's damn near a sure bet.If we made it to ATL and not the Natty this fan base would be in tears cuz I know I want that Natty..
I think the chaos has just begun. The Pac is just now entering their big matchups on the schedule. All of their top schools play each other over the next 2 weeks. It's more likely their champ has 2 losses. I wouldn't be shocked if Oregon still won the Pac. Last week we needed them to lose. This week we need them to win out. Clemson is done in my opinion. Even if you exclude that beat down to ND, I don't think they passed the CFP Committee's eye test.Everyone forgetting a possible 1 loss pac12 team. Still need TCU and USC to lose. Heck, even a 1 loss ACC Champion/ Clemson could still jump as later.
Here's a question for the group.
A playoff birth and possible first round loss to Georgia or OSU.... 11-2 record
Final poll.....8
A New Years bowl win and a beatdown of whoever... 12-1 record.
Final poll .....4
