I think we backed right into the playoffs..

...UGA would curb stomp us again...
Not so fast my friend. On a neutral field, the Vols have a shot. Don't underestimate the effect playing at UGA had on the game. We might win 1 or 2 out of 10 tries on a neutral field, but it is possible.

Another thing to consider for LSU, is their loss to TN was fairly early in the season. Voters tend to not punish teams as much for early losses.
A win over UGA will not get a 2-loss LSU in over a 1-loss TN that beat them head to head on their turf--NO WAY.

No need for the hyperbole. It's far from "delusional" considering no 1-loss SEC team has ever been left out of the playoffs. A no loss TCU possibly remains ahead of us. USC jumping us seems unlikely as again there is no precedence assuming we win out.
The flip side of that is the pac 12 hasn’t had a team in the playoff since 2014 and that’s the only time. Like I said people are delusional to think that a 12-1 usc champion won’t be in over ut.

That only works if tOSU wins over Michigan. A 1 loss Buckeye team will NOT fall out of the top 4. If we could be sure that TCU or Pac12 champ wouldn't get in... I actually wouldn't mind a UT, UGA, tOSU, and Michigan playoff. I actually think that might be the best 4 teams.
Lose late with a weak schedule and you're out. Period. OSU or Mich. has to win to get in.

IMO, TN had a bad day, and a bad game. The whole thing seemed to be overwhelming to some degree. So yeah, bad day. But make no mistake GA piled on heavy......they're that good across the board. Could've been worse.....so kudos to the D to limit the damage. TN gonna have to play a really error free, strong game to give GA a run for it money. It's very possible, but they'll have to play w/o fear and little or no errors.

Hope for TCU and Southern Cal to both drop a game, then a OSU-Michigan blowout either way.

If Georgia wins out and we do, that could end up like this.

1. Georgia
2. OSU- Michigan winner
3. Tennessee
4. Clemson or the OSU- Michigan loser.

I like our chances against either BIG team at a neutral site.

The loser of OSU and Michigan will drop to 5 and that is our ticket no matter who else wins out... We will play Georgia on a turf field where I think our receivers will find much better footing and Dylan Sampson is coming along at the right time... It's almost like we threw that game to avoid a potential late loss in Atlanta... A loss that late in the Season and there is no chance we make it.... Since we were number 1...
I with ya I think UT and GA are the 2 best teams.I want Ga to play an extra game in Atl maybe get beat up a little.

Tennessee will not get in over a 1 loss PAC or ACC champ. Still a higher probability that we miss the CFP.

If we win out Clemson is not jumping us even if they win the ACC championship. They won't even jump Alabama. Nowhere but the ACC, could Clemson or North Carolina be 1 loss teams in the Power 5 conferences.

2017 and 2021 were the only years that two teams from the same conference made the playoffs. 2017 osu was big ten champ with two losses after beating previously undefeated Wisconsin. In 2021, everyone else had two losses except ND. And they would’ve gotten in if not for undefeated Cincinnati.

Every other year, the four different playoff teams were either undefeated or had one loss AND were their conference champion.

I will not be disappointed one way or the other at this point. It’s just going to take a lot of losses for us to be one of those four teams.

Everyone forgetting a possible 1 loss pac12 team. Still need TCU and USC to lose. Heck, even a 1 loss ACC Champion/ Clemson could still jump as later.

USC will lose one of their next three games. Clemson doesn’t have the quality wins or SOS. Heck, some pundits were saying they wouldn’t get in even if they went undefeated. Our only threat is Michigan, and that’s if the committee is blind.

The narrative all week was how we would handle the pressure of being #1 and going road in a big game for the first time, etc…

And that tracks historically, it was a rough mental spot and we played badly. It happens….

The narrative since has been stupid. We can win a rematch, I firmly believe that. We also have by far the easiest path of any team not named Georgia to get in the playoff this year.

Maybe it won’t happen, worst case we go play UCF in the Cotton Bowl… and you know that could be fun too.

Enjoy it 🤷‍♂️

Tennessee will get in over a 1 loss ACC champ. The ACC is the worst conference this year.
This. The top two teams in that conference both lost to a mediocre Notre Dame. I don't care where ND is ranked. They got there by beating a mediocre Clemson. The fact that nobody in the ACC has been able to beat either Clemson or NC this year is not a good look for that conference. It is really bad football.

We won't get in unless everybody beats everybody else and UGA wins the SEC. We already played UGA, and just like last year with Cincy getting in ( I know, bad example) but UGA would curb stomp us again, so the committee will pick someone else to get curb stomped cause anybody left that plays UGA will get curb stomped. I say that cause they played like an entitled bunch of kids until we got ranked #1 the week we were playing them. They've been waiting for the playoffs to show how good they really are.

You lost your mind buddy! Have you ever played sports or watched sports - happens in every league and every year. One team whips another and the whipped one comes back and beats the first one. Pretty frequently actually! Have you not heard how hard it is to beat a team a second time? Georgia has dudes we got dudes. It is very possible on another day depending on gameplans, attitude biorythms moon phase an entirely different outcome. Shoot it happened last year bama and geogia!

No Clemson can not. The strength isnt there USC same. Oregon losing as well as UCLA leaves them without a signature win. We have 2

I guess it depends on the definition of signature win, or more importantly the selection committees definition but to win the Pac 12, 8th ranked USC would need to beat 3 top 20 teams in a row. Their only loss is by 1 point @ currently # 10 Utah. I think we are in over them but don't pretend it is out of the realm of possibility that the committee picks a Conference champ over us with the same record.

There is no way that we're being jumped by Clemson or USC if we win out, given our strength of schedule, unless the committee just decides to screw us. That could happen--but it shouldn't.
Here it is when it all said and done.
1) Ohio St. (They get lucky and beat Michigan)
2) Georgia ( They win only by the skin of their teeth)
3) TCU (If they win out, WTH, why not)
4) VOLS (The best 11-1 team in the nation)
PART 2:
Ohio St. haven’t faced nobody like dem VOLS and Ga vs TCU!, please!!.
REEEMATCH!!!: THE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION (GA) vs THE #1 CONTENDER (UT). LET’S GET READY TO RUUUMMMBLE!!!!!!

Dude we blew LSU out in their house. They absolutely will hold that against them. If it was a close loss probably not. But a 4 TD loss is an utter blow out.

I disagree, the committee isn’t going to drop a team down when/if they continue to win. The fact Tn is at 5, they won’t go lower if winning. If Ohio state or Michigan lose(one will), they’ve shown they don’t have confidence in Mich already seeing as they weren’t in the top 4 before TN lost, so if they lose to Ohio state, they aren’t going to stay above TN. If Ohio state loses, then they surely should drop to atleast 5, putting TN back in. Hell TN was 1, got beat by 3 and dropped to 5, can only expect the same if any of them lose, especially Mich or TCU.
I’m still in the camp that believes if Tn wins out they are set. TCU or Mich are the likely team not getting in, maybe both if they both lose.

All this talk about a one lose PAC or AAC is garbage. They clearly aren’t taking titles into account, and are clearly looking at strength of schedule. While it may get brought up, it’s not going into the decision making like many here try to make it. Again, they’d have to already place those teams ahead of TN to justify moving them ahead of a team they already thought was 1, and now 5. If they thought that before then they should have already been there, and when TN lost the committee had the perfect opportunity to do that and it be justified, or atleast have some what of a reasoning behind the decision.

0 and 1 loss conference champs have a good chance to jump us. Even a 2 loss SEC champ (LSU) would hurt our chances.

You're talking out your butt.

Georgia lost to Alabama in the SEC title game and came back to beat them in the CFP championship 1 month later.

That literally happened just last year!!
