The last two hires have painted them into a corner. Anything less than a homerun now will set the program back. The hire has to excite the team and recruits.

you don't bring family into coaching like that with the two stoops. disaster waiting to happen there. it'd be a repeat of chavis and fulmer. ala buddy buddy i trust ya even when it's third and long with the game on the line.

While I would prefer Stoops rehired Venables from Clemson to be the DC here, I don't think telling Bob he has to fire his brother(current OU DC) to get the job here would play out well. JMO

If what Crookruss posted in response to jmoore_21 is correct, it sounds like Gruden and Stoops have told Dave Hart "no".

Good try troll. 9-2 this year, playing for his 8th Big 12 championship in 13 years, 1 NC, 80% win record as a HC. I am going to stop posting these stats since some posters obviously can't read. Like I said, good job troll, got a rise out of me.

I would be as excited about Stoops as I would for Gruden. The man gets a bad rap for some reason. Two losses this year. Both teams ranked number 1 at some point including now. I don't get it

Usually it's reasonable to contact a coach after their last game/conference title game and before the bowl games start. Most AD's will contact the other AD before even trying to speak to a coach as that is the way it should be done. I would think Hart could speak to Stoops agent at anytime.

Stoops is a good coach. I think he would do good at Tennessee but after he won NC in his second year and lost to USC in NC game I think he has underachieved or has been overrated. I still do not see him leaving OU. Only reason I see him having interest is to increase his pay after OU thinks he is intrested in UT.

Dream defense scenario would include Chavis as DC/Front 7 coach, Mike Stoops AHC/DB coach.

Did anyone else watch how Stoops absolutely owned the last 6 minutes against Ok St. Saturday?
