I Think We Get Left OUT of Playoffs- Regardless

Don't the playoff teams from the SEC share their earnings from that appearance with the entire league? If so, one would think ol' Mitch would throw his support behind the big orange. More money in UK pockets. One thing AD's love more than anything else is money.

Mitch should definitely be well aware of how good we are!

Our only loss is to number 1 Georgia and it was only by two touchdowns. If we get left out, I’ll lose my 💩

But our only loss is to the #1 team
GA got in last year even though Bama was NOT undefeated when they lost to them. Bama had lost to aTm.

MI or tOSU will have lost to an undefeated team in the top 4, just like us.

If GA got in losing to a 1 loss top 4 Bama last year, why shouldn't MI/tOSU get in with a loss to an undefeated top 4 MI/tOSU?

I did not read any of this BS.

Why are there SO MANY people like you that are UT fans!!?

Just can't see Tennessee actually being successful! We were literally ranked #1 in the CFP just last week. Lost to the defending National Champions at their home field. They're now #1.
- Undefeated
- DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

We've beaten not 1 BUT 2!!! 2 CURRENT TOP 10 TEAMS.

And you really think with our exciting brand of football and 11-1 record with ALL THAT OTHER PREVIOUS STUFF MENTIONED, that we get put @ #5??!!

Just please SHUT UP ALREADY!!!
That a boy Little one !

Last year’s final number 5 was Notre Dame, who was 11-1, best win was against Wisconsin, and lost to Cincinnati. So, they also lost to a top 4 team, by that logic why weren’t they in?

I understand that Michigan is not doomed with a loss to tOSU, but I’d rather have my only loss to #1 than to #2.

Hopefully Michigan loses to Illinois this weekend and this is a moot point.

I'd MUCH rather MI lose to Ohio State, at least.

If it's TN vs Ohio State, each with one loss to a top 4 undefeated team, our SOS will be too close to their SOS and Ohio State is like Bama...... they're going to get a break because they're consistently in the hunt for the playoffs year after year.

GA DID get in last year after losing to a one loss Bama.

If MI or tOSU have one loss to an undefeated team, it's going to look shady that GA got in last year and they don't get in this year.

The only way the SEC gets 2 teams in the playoffs is if the loser of the Mich/OSU game gets blown out or it's a non-competitive game.

I think the committee will give the Big 10 the same benefit of the doubt that they gave the SEC last year. Bama was 11-1 but went to the SECCG and won, and UGA was undefeated going into the game but was #1 for most of the CFP rankings. The same can be said back in 2017, Bama did not play in the SEC title game but got in with UGA. Bama was beaten by an 11-1 Auburn who was beaten by an 11-1 UGA in the SEC title game. Our biggest wins come against teams with 2 losses and our remaining schedule does not have a top-20 team left. In other words, if Mich/OSU goes into their game undefeated and plays like they did last year where the winner won by less than 10, then the loser will get the same benefit of the doubt. Let's hope the Mich/OSU game is a blowout one way or the other. I think the 4th team will be either TCU or the PAC 12 winner with 0 or 1 loss. Also, we need TCU to slip up. Baylor did not look like a world-beater today. The playoff committee would like nothing more than to have teams representing 4 out of the 5 power conferences. It's all about the money. Take your emotions out of it. Do you think they will pick us over USC and risk losing the west coast or Texas/ Southwest viewership?

OSU (#3 Mich)
UGA (#7 LSU)
Mich (#2 OSU)
USC/TCU (USC would play #9 UCLA)

btw- I think TA&M will beat LSU- Jimbo will be playing for a lot.
WRONG

So you believe if UGA loses and the Big 10, PAC-12, ACC and Big 12 teams all have 1 loss or less - UGA is out! No one else believes that.
No I didn’t say that. You said UGA should be out (facetiously) in retort to my saying they value conference titles. I’m referring to someone like USC making it over us. The only times a team made it without even playing for their conference title was OSU in 2016 and Bama in 2017 and that’s because the other P5 conference champs had 2 losses. I think we’re better than a 1 loss USC team and more deserving based on the eye test but I also don’t put it past the committee to value a 12-1 PAC-12 champ (lost by 1 on the road) over an 11-1 UT team who didn’t make their title game.

The difference to me is UGA made it 1 game further than the loser of OSU/UM will this year (title game appearance) and obviously their SOS. UM’s OOC schedule is pathetic.

We dropped to 5 with a win over Bama and a stomping of LSU when we lost to #3 GA on the road by 14. No way can they justify keeping either one of those teams in that loses because they haven't played anyone else but Penn St.

I'd hope we can agree that's a slim margin to cite as a difference. And again, Bama had a loss already when GA lost to them. GA still got in.

MI/tOSU will be undefeated, almost certainly, when they play and it's almost given the winner will win the B1G.

GA got in after losing to a ONE LOSS conference champion Alabama already in the top 4.

MI/tOSU will lose to an UNDEFEATED conference champion already in the top 4.

I think it's close. Looking at GA getting in last year having lost to a one loss ranked team.....vs..... MI/Ohio State having lost to an undefeated ranked team, it's hard to say it's a lock for TN.

That's just based on what happened last year.

You could be right but I think we will find our way. No accident I don’t think that JH has Milton throwing bombs late in Q4. He’s a damn competitor…and it’s not a one year thing. We may or may not make playoffs but I think we are back in long term relevance…which is better than a one year flash in the pan.

I'll take that A&M over LSU beat .......forget pink sheets....let's do Home Deeds !!! Sucka....

A&M loses in intrasquad games .......

Whether we get a playoff bid or not, we still know which team is the best and has come the farthest. Vols are the all-time, undisputed champions in my book. And they always will be, win or lose.

Just a reminder to all the OSU and Michigan will both be in folks: they won’t. Committee has shown the numbers matter. That’s why TN was ranked #1 in the first rankings. Whoever loses that game will not have a resume anywhere close to TN’s.

This changed as you play new teams. We play 3 mediocre teams to end the season, And don’t have a conf championship game.

I can't see it. Only way we get left out is if TCU goes undefeated and USC completely dominates. Like absolutely kills everyone left and they give the nod to the PAC12 (not happening) or TCU goes undefeated and LSU beats Georgia. I have no issue with it even if we did kill them.

IF we win out, and blow out S.C. and Vandy like we did MO, and still don't get in, well by golly - the football Gods didn't quite shine down on us. TCU/Texas was trash and we all know that. The Bama win though, kind of softens the blow. I live in Alabama, and it's been a successful year for me regardless. We are playing with house money and the future looks bright. And, I think the "committee" is smoking something if TCU gets in there instead of us. I guarantee if they get in, they will be blown out by whoever they match up with. Ask Mark Stoops what is gameplan was against Vandy and do the opposite. All we can do is jut hammer S.C. and Vandy and let the chips fall where they may. If the moons don't line up, we put 52 on Saban and Hyatt/Hooker torched him for 5 TD's. I'm happy. Rest is gravy.

So you think Michigan or Ohio St loses and remains in the top 4 even though Tennessee only loss is to an undefeated #1 Georgia team? No way the committee does that because they know the SEC would find a way to ruin them with their power. If you don’t think the SEC and their money could ruin the committee you’ve gotta be crazy. Once Clemson lost we punched our ticket as long as we win out and it’s not any close games

CFP want pass on USC and the PAC champion. With a 1 loss they will jump us into the 4th spot ( IF ) that happens. I personally don’t think they can run the gauntlet. It maybe to much to ask the committee to drop Ohio State past the 4th spot ( IF ) Michigan beats them. Michigan needs to lose where we don’t have to sweat that one.

None of that made any sense. PAC champ has been left out before. And the rest of what you said made no sense
