I want Riley Ferguson

Wow the treads are amazing this week. I want to see Riley too, just not this year. Come next year he has a legit shot. He should be healthy, bigger, faster, stronger, and will know the playbook better. No way I would burn his redshirt now. That's a Dooley move.

That's dumber than Butch's fake field goal decision.

Actually, that was a good decision. Palardy was obvious not 100% and the wind was brutal, almost no chance he makes that kick. If we line up and go for it, with our pitiful passing attack Saturday there is almost no chance we make it. If we punt, we only gain minimal yardage and our he had confidence in our defense, they have been hold Vandy in check. So, it comes down to the fact that if that one Vandy special team player does not play his key and goes for the FG block then we walk into the endzone for a TD. Success far outweighed the failure.

If Riley's redshirt was going to be incinerated, it would have been done against Vandy...useless gesture at this point...if we were to lose at Kentucky, I bet we'd get 4 commits :)

I was wondering what was up with the kickers on Saturday. So the wind was a huge factor? Didn't seem like it on TV, but it did seem cold.
Has there been any mention of Palardy being injured?

To me it would be worth burning the redshirt if it means finding a proven leader so this team can have something to feel good about heading into the off season. It would be big for recruits as well and Ferguson could .be getting first team snaps in the .offseason getting prepared for next year. We need to solve thus qb mess now not later!!!! And Dobbs and Peterman are both busts....we are spinning our wheels with both of them......I don't want to wait the entire off season to know if we actually have a competent qb or not....its torture to even think about....Butch owes us as fans to show us something to be hopeful about instead of plodding the worst looking young qb to ever get any meaningful playing time at UT. Even Crompton and Worely both looked better as true freshman than Dobbs. I am this close to turning in Butch.....I want to.see what Riley can do...under heck with the whole red****t thing....we need hope now!!!!! You can bring .in all the recruits you like, but .it won't matter without a decent qb.

It makes absolutely no sense to burn an entire redshirt for one game against a 2-9 UK team when we are 4-7. Wait until the spring game.

100% right. Dobbs will start and play vs Ky. He gets hurt, it's Peterman's game.

OP. Let's just say Ferguson is the next Peyton Manning. You're going to burn a year of eligibility on a meaningless UK game? SMDH.

The title of this thread is creepy on many levels.

Original op was I WANT RILEY FERGUSON TO MODEL THIS PRETTY DRESS I BOUGHT...mods thought it was too clunky :)

I want to see Butch try to win a game. This whole stay the course be consistent with the approach crap works great when you are winning. When you are losing you may want to try something different.

Sure let's burn a red shirt for the last game of the year! That's a great idea!

Stick to having weird dreams crunchy.

But yet, you can't even look past one single game that we should win without problems... .
You should begin to prepare yourself.
This team is demoralized.
Nothing to play for and on the road.
It's sad but fitting that team 117 will be remembered as the 4-8 guys.
The 28 guys that should be the heart of this team were doomed to failure by circumstances far beyond their own control.
Prepare for a tragic ending to a tragic career.

the second half of the Vandy game would have been a time to put Ferguson in. Not now, the red shirt is more important. Whether he look good or bad wouldn't prove anything as far as next year goes, got to see more than one game.and its not time to throw Peterman or Dobbs under the bus just yet, they're just a true freshman and a red shirt freshman.

You are out of your d... Mind! Total irrational viewpoint. You don't burn a redshirt with one game left in the season in "hopes" of finding a true "leader". Just crazy. Ferguson will get his chance in the spring and fall. It's that simple. People have GOT to show more patience. We ALL want instant fixes and assume the cure is somewhere on the sidelines hidden in the depth chart. I promise you Butch knows what he has in terms of potential playmakers and will allow such players to have there shot....but circumstances play a major role in such decisions. I have no doubt Ferguson will be a stud. It's just not going to be next week.

This is actually a very good question. But, a better question would be would it be worth it to burn Riley's redshirt if a win were guaranteed? One win versus losing an entire year of eligibility. What is a win worth?

He even wasted the 3rd down to make it look like we were getting in position for a field goal...For what? so that PALARDY could run to left and THROW back all the way across the field into that same wind that he can't kick into:eek:lol: That was a dumb decision.

We desperately need an identity right now......Ferguson has a swagger about him....we need that...evefy good team has an identity...we don't have one yet...

The only reason Ferguson walked with swagger is because he has a leg injury. Come on people everyone on this board was saying 6-6 would be great but most people said that would even be a reach. We have a true freshman qb that is making true freshman mistakes. Our wrs aren't helping any by dropping the passes like hot potatoes when it counts. When all of our receivers get here next it will be different and we will have a true qb battle. Give CBJ time.

Peterman is a red****t freshman not a true freshman....geez, makes you wonder if some people even watch the games.....when we lose to Kentucky with Dobbs things are going to get very nasty....some if you don't understand this is a must win even more so than Vandy. I knoe a bowl game is no longer at stake, but even Dooley never lost to both Vandy and Kentucky in the same season.
