About how ANY team in the country has a tougher schedule than UT. As far as I have seen, no one has us as #1 on their SoS list, some actually have us surprisingly low, and I listened to ESPN blabber on today about how Florida may have the toughest schedule in the country.
Using final rankings of last year, we play 4 of the Top 7 teams from the 2013 season. The lowest ranked of those is Bama at 7. We play #6 Oklahoma on their own turf. We play a 9-win Utah State team, we play an Arkansas State team that's 28-11 in their last 3 seasons.
We play Georgia, who spent the first half of last season in the Top 10 and the latter half in the Top 25. We play Ole Miss (who has been picked by several sites to be a contender in the west) on their own field, and a Vanderbilt team that is coming off a 9-4 season in Nashville on our other home field.
Can anyone find a team with a tougher schedule?

Ole Miss>LSU. No way. Ole Miss lost 5 games last year and have LSU on the road. LSU will be SEC West champs this year.
Ole Miss is bringing back EVERYONE and they are year 2 into their stellar recruiting class. Meanwhile, LSU is going to have a Georgia/SC/Bama style drop off at QB and they've lost their 2nd round draft pick RB Jeremy Hill.
I'm open to discussion, but why exactly will LSU be so good this year?
Because LSU's recruiting was as good if not better than Ole Miss' stellar class. That's the problem in the SEC. You can have a top 10 recruiting class and be 6th in the SEC.
Not to mention LSU's #2 class in 2014 where they will replace Hill with the #1 RB recruit in the country.
Ole Miss is poised to be the next big team in the SEC IMO. They brought in 3 Rivals 5* recruits and all 3 were game changers as freshmen. They are back now with Bo Wallace at the helm. Laquon Treadwell literally catches everything.
They were 2-10 in 2011. They are tending up in a big way. 8-5 did not reflect their talent last year.
