Than the last 2 years. If we just do as well in the SEC regular season I now think we are in without being on the bubble.

That's all we can ask of the guy IMHO

2012-2013 8-4 heading into SEC play.

2013-2014 8-4(not including tusculum) heading into SEC play

Zero progress made

In fact our resume looked better this time a year ago.

No bad losses and one top 25 win.

If anything we have regressed

That doesn't sound right but am too lazy to care. Would love to see the RPI comparison but if I am wrong take it all back.

OK, how are we in much better shape? It's easy to say anything, but how about a little evidence to back you up?

I said before the season and I'll say it again, being on the bubble and scraping into the NCAA tournament is not enough for me. This team is far too talented to be a bubble team. Unless we tear through the SEC, it's almost too late to not be near the fringe. With a good coach, we would have been a top 25 team looking at between a 5 and 7 seed.

Lol

You mean he gave an opportunity to reiterate the reality of this program stuck in one bad spot.

I don't get this post. We will need a great record in the SEC this year to get in. This includes a lot of road wins.

You're not wrong.

8-4 both years. 1 top 50 win last year, 2 top 50 wins this year.

RPI last year at this time: 78
RPI as of this morning: 54

So yes, we are in much better shape than we were the previous years.

If I remember correctly and I usually do our RPI going into SEC PLAY last year was over 100. We were never able to get where it needed to be.The records might be the same but the situation is MUCH DIFFERENT

To your credit you did say previous 2 years, not just last year:

2011-2012:
7-7
0 top 50 wins
RPI: 275

2012-2013:
8-4
1 too 50 win
RPI: 78

2012-2013:
8-4
2 top 50 wins
RPI: 54

So yes, you're dead on OP, clear progression as the RPI glaringly shows.

Correct. Last year we were left trying to drag our RPI into a respectable area, this year we start right there.

RPI numbers last 3 years entering SEC play/

2011-2012: 275
2012-2013: 78
2013-2014: 54

Comparing year 1 to this year does show progress but let's be honest. That first year was unbearable to watch.

Any Rpi between 50-75 is one that puts a team on the outside looking in. No difference at between between the past 2 years.

Both years we needed to improve to make the dance.

Perhaps we will have a better SEC run this year and make it

Best thing Bruce did I will submit was he knew how to manipulate the RPI in our favor so no matter our record at the end of the yesr we were set to make the NCAA Tourney

If we go 12-6 in the SEC we make the NCAA Tourney.

Heard a sports commentator say this weekend that SEC will likely get only 4 teams in the "dance", despite the conference being a bit stronger this year. :eek:k:

Yes and last year that would have been the exact same case.

We went 11-7 and were 1 game short.

Thanks for making the same point I have been making. No progress

No you are wrong if you can't see the difference in starting SEC PLAY ain the 50s in the RPI then there is really no reason to talk to you.

If you follow Rpi you understand that this time of year it fluctuates daily. The amount of games is so small that it changes significantly without even playing a game.

Again the difference between a any Rpi between 50-75 is virtually null. Any school in that range has work to do. Last year 11 wins didn't do it and by your own admission we need 12 this year. Exactly the same
