Ideas for potential O/C and D/C for Gundy or Strong

Chavis has it made at LSU, with their talent and the recruiting base in Louisana. He was never a big time recruiter here. He had his hands in it, but really never did a lot of in home visits, etc. I feel like Tennessee would need him to do that if he were to come back, so the question is, would he? He might be spiteful for what the University did to him, but he still has to have love for UT.

I for one, as I posted earlier, would love to have him back.

Keep our current OC. Bring in Steele as DC or any besides Sunseri.

Gundy- Ron zook are Randy Shannon. Strong- Noel mazzoine are baylor offensive cordinator

He should bring his current OC and look at Ron Zook for DC, bring in Kevin Steele to recruit and coach DB's. Fire Sal, keep Cronklin and hire a good DL coach.

We don't need anymore of the BS S an CB coach at same time. That was half the problem last year! Plus, do you really want anyone that was on staff on the defensive side back anyways? Worst job I've ever seen by those coaches...

If it's Gundy, the offense will be amazing! He will need a d coordinator like Pat Narduzzi or Manny Diaz. If it's Charlie Strong...I would assume he'd be very hands on shoring up our defense...and it would improve greatly! I would like to see Chaney stay if Strong is the HC.

^^^^^^ BTW...either would be a massive improvement. Don't expect a miracle season next year with our schedule though.

Chaney really wants to stay in Knoxville and I like that loyalty. I think it would work out well since the HC could determine how much you run or pass. He has never had that power runner that gave him the option to have a 50-50 offense. No one can deny that his offense can score points and he should have scored enough this season to have 2-3 more wins with a good defense.

Cause he was here as a DB and LB coach and he's a true VFL, or so they say... IMO he's a below avg def coord who can't stop Mobil QBs from the ACC

Chavis' beef is with the previous administration. But I am not too high on bringing him back for other reasons--like "3rd & Chavis" or end of game prevent D. He can get away with it with LSU talent, but not here until we get some players.

I would like to see Graham and Pittman stay. Maybe Chaney, if he fits in with the new coach. Maybe Hinshaw. D coaches need to go unless new coach sees something in them that I don't.

If it is in fact Strong, he's going to have to assemble one hell of a staff. The guy is not a good coach, he's just a sexy hire. He'd need a Chavis-level DC and I guess to keep Chaney as his best option. Gundy wouldn't have to be as desperate in his coordinators. I think he could pick up Zook for DC and keep his OC

Edit: Keep Jay Graham at all cost

If it's Gundy, then bring in Randy Shannon. If it's Strong, then keep our current offensive staff. I wouldn't mind seeing T come home either.

We averaged 475 yards of offense per game. How can you not want a guy that produces that? All while playing from behind because we had the worst defense in UT history.

Think a little.
