If Alabama loses what does that do for the Vols playoff picture wise?

So teams ahead of us from CFP Playoff home perspective

SEC Champion - Assume Texas
B1G Champion - Assume Oregon
ACC Champion - Assume Miami
Big12 Champion - Assume anyone frankly, don't know

Ohio State
Georgia
Penn State
Notre Dame

Tennessee - first away
Indiana
Boise State
Not clear who is left after the chaos, assume South Carolina?

So we need Penn State or Notre Dame to lose to get a home host. Indiana is still in the mix as well, not sure if we will behind or ahead of them.
At the moment, SMU (pre-ACC Championship Game).

After championship game weekend, it could very well be Clemson (if they beat South Carolina), Ole Miss is back into it (I have a hard time seeing them put South Carolina over Ole Miss when Ole Miss played South Carolina this year and beat them very soundly 22-3), or Alabama.

Everything is all of course presuming A&M doesn’t beat Texas and win the SEC Championship Game.

Crap, you're right. Even though we'd have the same record and Texas would have no good wins, I'm not sure we'd be able to get in front of them or not.
Likely not. Texas has no good wins (unless they beat A&M, then they have 1 good win), but Tennessee has only 1 good win.

Texas only would have losses to ranked teams (Georgia and Texas A&M, if the Longhorns don’t make the SEC Championship Game); Tennessee meanwhile has a loss to a good ranked team but also a loss to 6-6/7-5 Arkansas.

I do not believe there is a scenario out there where we are in the championship, is there? UGA vs the winner of Texas and aTm, correct? As long as aTm beats Auburn.
Now that Alabama lost to Oklahoma, correct in that UGA is in.

The Texas vs Texas A&M winner would go regardless of the A&M Auburn game (it’d be a 5-2 in SEC play A&M playing a 6-1 in SEC play Texas if A&M lost to Auburn).
