If Harbaugh leaves do we go after any Michigan players?

Who'd we reach out to? With huge needs in different places with immediate playing time to go with it we couldn't close on any one of the many that have left Bama's program?
We did land a TE.

Reached out to Proctor and Downs specifically. Downs was always headed to Ohio State, knew before he hit the portal where he was going. Couple more guys from Bama. Also supposedly contacted a player or two from Arizona as well. Fit is as important as talent and honestly I don’t think we’re going to pay insane money to a player that will only be here a year or two. Heupel is focused on retention of the players we have and want to keep, getting the right guys via the portal as far as talent and fit, and still building with the high school recruiting. For all the panic amongst our fans we’ve had a pretty damn good year in the portal.

We could use elite safeties....and cb's for that matter. I'm not sure why this hasn't been more of a priority.
After watching this video…is that George Macintyre?? He was at the game and obviously in the recruit section.

If I had a coach just win the national championship and was trying to offer him a sick contract extension and he’s interviewing for NFL jobs?…..Naw dog, you gotta go…see ya!

Possibly....

Hear me out...

Almost none of that happens and he's letting the BVS get the best of him

Giving the keys to a Rolls Royce running like a top to someone who has only driven with a learner’s permit would be a bold move. Worked out at Miami for a couple of years then Coker fizzled when Butch’s guys left. Usually doesn’t work.

I think it's pretty obvious that Moore is gonna get the job-at least for this season.

Whether they slap an interim on him and see how it goes in 2024 will be the question.

If he is given the job outright, I could see a very school friendly contract that could be written off after a year with the change in some boosters sofa cushions.

Everybody thought Kiff left very late way back when. It's two weeks later on the calendar now and everybody knows Michigan is probably gonna get slapped around by sanctions pretty soon.

Just don't see many top flight coaches making a move at this point in the calendar. Too many variables at Michigan currently for anybody worth his weight in salt. Only hope for them might be to get somebody who has no issues leapfrogging around. Basically a Kiffen lol.

Now that little Jimmy is gone, is there any guys in the portal we should grab? Be interesting to watch what happens to that roster.
Why do some of you just assume that if a coach leaves a ton of players are gonna hot the portal? That’s not always the case.

I don’t think it happens all the time like you said, but I think in this era of CFB it’s more likely than not to happen. I can’t remember the last time I saw a HC vacancy not result in at least some of the high profile players leaving.

Timing is very late. I’m assuming classes already started almost everywhere. I mean players will get a transfer window bc of the head coach leaving but be weird to transfer this late.

Probably going to depend on what happens before they could get a good coach to come so I think they offer it to the OC guy and try to keep all the players they can since they like him
I’m sure it’s their OC, Moore. No way on this earth would Urban Meyer even be in the discussion.

Did you see the kids that flocked from Bama of all places? That’s a program with a stable roster and administration. Michigan has no head coach and a dysfunctional athletic department that is bracing for sanctions. I expect to see even more leave from there.

Not that I believe it but I saw it on Twitter where a Michigan guy said Meyer is very interested in the job.
I’m not a betting man, but I think I’d become one if someone wanted to bet me that he won’t be the coach at a Michigan. He won’t be. I’m sure my wife will understand me putting this mansion on the table.

Maybe. Those kids just won a national title though. And the ncaa moves slow as molasses when it comes to investigations.

It makes sense, at this point, I just wouldn’t give him some 5 year deal. I know they say that’s tuff matters with recruits, but not anymore. Anyone can go anywhere. A recruit would go there knowing he’s free and clear to go elsewhere if Moore isn’t there long term.

Not if Urban Meyer takes the Michigan job.
If Urban Meyer took the coaching job at Michigan, the whole state of Ohio would erupt in Jihad!!
Volcanoes and tidal waves would consume the just and unjust alike as Hell's own fire sweeps over the land amidst the onset of a (rare) mid-winter zombie apocalypse!
The ghost of Buckeyes Past, A.K.A Woody Hayes, wold arise from the grave and place an unholy pox upon the land of the Wolverine!
No couch, anywhere in Ohio, would be safe!
For the sake of the world and the future of mankind....let it not come to pass....😂😂😂
