If Healthcare passes today....

Someone help me out here. I heard on the radio yesterday that Obama and the pro-UHC side have deemed HSA accounts as not sufficient health coverage. That is what I have. I have an HSA account with a higher deductible which I can use my HSA if I still want to go to the doctor or save it in case of an emergency. It works pretty good in that it keeps you from running out to the doctor for every little cold but you're still covered if you need it.

OK, my question, does this mean that I will have to find another insurance plan (or my employer) since they feel that HSA accounts aren't sufficient (so much for "you can keep your own plan if you chose")? I'm afraid my employer will throw in the towel and decide to let us find our own insurance after all this and then I will get stuck with the $500 fine (which is what I heard) if you don't take the govt insurance.

I'm really lost on all this and just heard some of this stuff on Steve Gill. I didn't know how serious to take it since he is obviously against Obama or if it was fairly accurate.

then move to another industrialized nation.... wait they ALL have healthcare for all, too. (The United State of America now included) Maybe you should try a third-world country instead.

Wow, another ignorant post for perhaps the most ignorant poster on the board. Your right, we should all just pay for everything and no one should be fiscally responsible for crap. I bet you have 5-10K of credit card debt and have a car payment.

But yet, if you are sick, you get cared for, no insurance needed.
If you want to go bankrupt, sure! I'm sorry, the average american with cancer who doesn't have insurance can't afford the treatment. That, in my mind, isn't care suitable for the greatest nation on earth

You expect to get an accurate answer either way on this board???

So now wait a minute. Now, we are giving people houses that don't need them, and we are going to financially strain the health insurance system to the point to where it's ready to give up. Your a freaking communist. Big government control of the people, that's your agenda, plain and simple.

My understanding and from talking to a few doctor friends, the majority believe that employers will eventually drop their health coverage and pay the fine, Thats the cheap way out for them as it pertains to the companies bottom line. People when then be forced to get health care from the government, which is their plan all along. Full dependence on the government. This is scary!

WHere have I said anything about housing... can't afford a house.... rent.... can't afford rent... move in with somebody...

ZERO debt

So, you should be one of the ones, if what you say is true and I doubt it, to say that people should be responsible for themselves. What about the people who don't want healthcare that are between the ages of 18-29?? I mean, that's the entire reason we are here is because of that age group. They want those taxes and that money, because those people are the lowest payers in to the system.

Yet, countries in Europe have a higher expected life expectancy.... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, i guess they're doing that without hospitals

They have a higher life expectancy, because they don't have a McDonald's on every freaking corner with a dollar value menu. They eat better, therefore they live longer. They also have less stress because they are no where near as developed as we are.

No, I'm one of those that know there are hard workers out there that don't have health insurance because their companies don't provide it... Without help from somewhere, health insurance will put the average american in debt.

Trust me, if i wasn't married, I'd be up the creek as far as insurance goes.

No doubt personal responsibility comes into play... But it sure as heck doesn't hurt that EVERYBODY has access to health insurance

Yet, there are programs out there from private insurance companies that help out these people all the time, IF they choose to look. It's a lot easier to just ***** about something than to actually take the situation in to your own hands and go look for some insurance.

Really? I mean really?
