If Pearl is fired...

Who cares if you "support" the basketball team or not? More than likely you do not donate to the program, don't pay for season tickets, don't pay for their basketball camps they host, etc. What support would they be losing, you sitting in your recliner watching the games? I'm sure they are trembling at the thought.

i'm one hellava fan.

Having a job is a prerequisite to donating money. That excludes Pistol from the start.

And like I said, there's plenty there to can him. I personally think it's disgraceful that a coach at my school knowingly cheated and violated rules. I could care less whether he stays or goes at this point....

your concerned about the university. im concerned about winning. go support vanderbilt.

That's great. You being one hellava fan means the basketball program gets one hellava goose egg in terms of dollars from you. Therefore, losing this "hellava fan" because the university chooses to fire someone who cheated on multiple occasions.....nobody cares.

The coach of the current national champions seems to disagree with you that winning takes recruiting violations to accomplish.

Also the coach of the #2 team in the polls seems to disagree as well.

Funny, huh?

Just so we're all on the same page, what does UT lose when mtt2d decides not to be a UT fan anymore?

I'm a bigger UT basketball fan than football fan. Always have been, even when Wade, KO, and Buzz were sabotaging our program for years. With that said, I think Bruce Pearl is obviously the best thing to happen to UT sports overall since his arrival. He is a great marketer, coach, and motivator.

All that said, if Pearl is fired, it's his own fault. I hope he stays and grows past this and becomes a better person and coach because of it. I will fault UT zero if he is fired. What has come out already is enough to warrant consideration.

Your perspective is a little short-sighted. UT basketball will survive this, Pearl or no Pearl. I hope he survives this, but will continue to support that program without regard to the coach. No different than those that chose not to support Kiffin of Dooley because of their loyalty to Fulmer. There is nothing wrong with being a fan of a coach, but to allow that loyalty to blind your overall loyalty to the program calls in question your fandom to begin with. The same can be said for those that do not support the program because they don't like Pearl. I do not support Barack Obama's government takeover, but it doesn't mean I am any less a fan of America.

And you know whats so bad is guys like Calapari and Kiffin do a lot worse things then Pearl. You would never get Calapari to admit to anything. He got a guy who played for Turkey last year and got paid, and said he sees nothing wrong with it. NCAA still looking at that.
