If SMU gets booted from the playoffs,

Idk and you don’t either

That's why I said I was guessing at 6-6.
Point is IMO they are a weak team from a weak conference, but there are several like them in the playoffs. Too much weight on conf championships when the reality is those teams play no one all year.

There is the SEC, a couple of teams from the Big 10, then a massive drop off.

If you think SMU is a legit top 12 team then so be it. Good luck with that

The only thing I do know is Bama didn’t deserve to be in. I would’ve put Ole Miss in before Bama.

The rules set by the conference commissioners has made this a clusterfu&k. Boise nor Ariz St should receive byes. It has screwed up the brackets unfairly for Oregon, the #1 seed, OSU & Tennessee.

The committee did about as well as they could. I don’t have an issue with who’s in (sorry, 3 loss SEC teams) but the seeding has really been unfair & frankly stupid.

Really? That's a heart thing for you then. Alabama is easily one of the twelve best teams as much as I hate to say it. Under the current format they don't make it. Make no mistake on their inclusion as far as the best teams are concerned

No they’re not. The best 12 teams lose games, they don’t get BLOWN OUT by 6-6 teams.

Rule? What rule? Not sure the CFP committee operates by any known standard when selecting teams beyond the conference champs. They can do anything they want to do with the rest of the picks.
OK maybe not "written rule". But at one point, I thought they came out and made clear that a team "IN" the playoffs would not be punished by being "OUT" due to the results of the extra CCG. Seems that's the path they chose w SMU, who doesn't have the quality of UA.
